My sweety blogged about Sarah's latest outbreak of foot in mouth disease.

Think of all the hungry people in the world that could eat that pardoned turkey.

Also think of the imprisoning of species in the name of "food" for humans to eat, the abuses of factory farming, etc. (seriously, you control how/where they reproduce, what they eat, how they live and the limited space, etc.).
Anyone see how fucked up that is? All in the name of feeding humans..

Amazingly, we tend to keep re-electing the same sad old bunch of corrupt and ignorant assholes.
If not for the FBI's work, Ted Stevens would have been re-elected by a landslide.
A few of us are not completely dim--several local bloggers (my sweety amoing them) helped spread the truth about Sarah's arrogance, ignorance, and incompetance. Anti-Palin rallies in Anchorage have drawn thousands, and letters to the editor of the Anchorage Daily News have been running 2 to 1 against her.

Synthetic meat is just around the corner. Of course, unless they have synthetic blood to go with the steak, it's just not going to be the same.

Agreed, for many reasons. One of which is that the whole stupid turkey-pardoning thing makes light of capital punishment--the US of A is the only western nation that still has this cruel and unevolved practice in place.

It's what makes the meat red. :p I like my steaks medium rare, slightly charred. Gives it character, dont you know.

I don't understand why she hasn't been impeached/arrested for using her position to illegally fire that sheriff?

you know; I didn't think of it in that way.

Because they didn't have the balls to take it that far when the same code they busted her on doesn't allow for it. And face, it, dumb as she may act, that whole troopergate thing was a line of crap. They weren't going to take it any further than necessary to further their political goals.

cruel and unevolved practice
I'm really not sure what to make of the whole issue.
On the one hand, killing people cuz killing people is wrong seems quite, in a word, retarded.
On the other hand, I would really like to see those repeat child molesters and stuff dead.
But then again, I'd also really like to steal my neighbors car, doesn't mean I should.
It's quite a trip trying to justify the concept, isn't it.

Are you a vegan?
Argon, the people in Oral Indulgences have been quick to correct the whole bloody steak thing. It's not blood. It's um...some kind of protein water solution. But it obviously gets its color from blood cells so I don't know why they don't shut the fuck up.
I'll agree that the way most animals are raised today is despicable, but I'm not going to stop eating meat. I like meat. I think we should eat animals, but it should be done in a much better way. But...how do you even begin with that problem? It's gotta be through legislation, not just people saying "I'll have salad."

Its also more beneficial in terms of actual nutrients. People tend to forget that we eat to fuel our bodies first before we eat just to enjoy using our senses. One of my friends actually eats nothing but raw food because of this. He is lucky enough to be making enough money to maintain such a diet.

Here is my take--do away with CP AND prisons. Have convicted folks make financial restitution or do community service--chain gangs if need be.
In the case of repeat pedos, serial rapists, chronic DUI offendors and stuff, banish their asses to some desert island, airdrop in food, whisky, meth and firearms.
Lettem have it out.

We're also the only first world nation leading the biotechnological and pharmaceutical industries, with healthcare that's not nationalized (Canada's is in fact the most expensive healthcare system in the world and most people don't seem to realize that. It's also not as good as the US's despite what those who don't work behind the scenes will try and tell you), and the only member of NATO with that archaic Second Amendment. No civilized nation other than the US seems to have that... or the 1st Amendment for that matter, and all its limitations (and before people go prattling about the Patriot Act, I doubt most if any of you really have a clue about Protected Speech, how many SC Justices supported it through the history of the US, that it's been around since the second Presidency, etc.)
So let's not get too evolved : -).
