View Full Version : 9smgsssrsr
I have set in my mind to get a 9mm sub machine gun style semiautomatic short range sporting rifle (9smgsssrsr for short). I have my eyes on a suomi parts kit and want to build something from the ground up. The kit cost $100.
I was wondering if you guys knew about other kits that are cheaper. Or criticisms for the suomi. Or suggestions for me to buy something else with the 9smgsssrsr guide lines.
In other news; my cousin said he is going to send me pics of the .22 select fire bull pup that he built with influence from me. I'll show these said pics if he ever gets them to me. (He is not in America and does not have to follow our shitty totalitarian laws for guns)

Why not just build/buy a semi-auto version of an MP5?
Edit: Or if you want to go cheap, a 9mm Hi-Point. Cheap, kinda neat looking, fun to shoot..

Because you suck. And we hate you.

I, too, love the oldschool SMGs. I'd love to have an old Finn KP44 or a Beretta 38. Something about low-tech guns with bitchin' barrel shrouds just turns me on.
Problem is, most of 'em are open-bolt designs and require quite a bit of fabrication to assemble into legal firearms. You may wanna start with a Sten. I'm lazy, so I'll probably just SBR an Uzi clone when I get the cash. Or a Skorpion, maybe.
Random? Lava? Anyone? No suggestions for meh?

I'd probably recommend a 9mm AR. Boring?
Also, I've been sick lately, so aside from getting backed up with work, my visits have been abnormal.
Just buy a Hi-Point 995 and an ATI aftermarket stock for it.

A friend who has 3 5.56 AR15s and one in 9mm says he hates the 9mm one to death. Nothing but jams from it but no problems to speak of with the other three.

I'd love to know what type he has. They're supposed to be finicky if you don't have the proper recoils spring, buffer, and a little TLC. The main reasons I'd recommend one are the manual of arms, good aftermarket accessories, the fact that resale is through the roof, the desirability with the whole potentially-impending AWB, and the caliber convertibility.

It's not strep is it? There's an 8 day battalion field exercise that I'm not on because of that. Hit me over thanksgiving.
Anyway, I'll bet an Uzi kit would be fun, but I've heard a company is doing Sterlings now.

I'm not sure. A female friend I hung out with recently was just diagnosed with mono, so if I'm not feeling any better by tomorrow, I will most likely get tested for both. No idea where she got it. I thought it was mostly a college thing.

You realise that we'll need a doctors certificate to confirm that?

If not even Dr. House can get confirmation from the CIA.... ; -).

Being an old gun fudd, I'd say a Semi-Auto Madsen. Simple enough to build from blueprints and modify into closed-bolt, semi-auto only mode. And because the barrel is perfectly circular, you can experiment with a host of barrels if you can get them made from 9mm Barrel blanks.
I'll try to post pics of mine when I get back home, but mind that I'll have to dig it back out for that.
Yes, to those who will ask I have interred most of my collection for long term storage.
Just keeping the bare essentials at hand.

I just Google image searched "KP44" and was very surprised to get this as the eighth result: http://i012.radikal.ru/0805/3d/6da0c9320d55.jpg (nsfw)
Any good parts kits? I am looking for something I can fabricate... A simple 9smgsssrsr.

Again, look into the Madsen M50. Its prefectly possible to fabricate one, save for the barrel, but it offers a host of barreling options.
