I hate californiacation, purely because my mates ruined it for me.
I don't like much of red hot chilli peppers stuff.
Aeroplane is a great song however.
The Kingsmen - Louie Louie
That is all.

Holy fuck that is one terrible list OP.
And honestly, isn't this just a "Your Favorite Songs" thread in disguise?
But if you want a list of songs I play endlessly and never get tired of:
VNV Nation - Standing
Sigur Ros - Untitled 7
Smashing Pumpkins - Disarm
Faunts - M4 Part 2
Dinosaur Jr. - Out There
65daysofstatic - Another Code Against The Gone
Radiohead - Exit Music (For a Film)
Dismantled - Exit
Tool - Lateralus
Massive Attack - Angel
Deftones - Change (In The House of Flies)
Silversun Pickups - Future Foe Scenarios
Beck - Lost Cause
Nine Inch Nails - The Becoming
Placebo - Special K
Okkervil River - Another Radio Song
The Jesus and Mary Chain - Just Like Honey
Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart
These are songs that sold me on the band the first time I heard them, that I played on repeat for days because I loved them so much, that truly spoke to me during rough times, or that stand out as one of the best from an artist I've listened to everything by over and over again.

i dont think youve heard all the songs on my list because judging by your list we listen to a lot of the same stuff.
this be not 2 u, but u can reafd2
and also, anyone who doesnt think the song what is love is good is lieing to them selves.
it gets old when its over played, but it is an awesome song.
i hang out w/ people who listen to straight hardcore/deathcore shit and even they think its good.
and i live in the deep south, and i even know of rednecks who think that its good.
but i listen to just about everything, and im not just one of those people who say that either.
the only things i dont listen to are like gospel, and rap... but some is ok.

i dont think youve heard all the songs on my list because judging by your list we listen to a lot of the same stuff.
I've listened to 80% of that list and it ranges from cliche, to trite, to downright awful.
What is Love? An awesome song? I'll give you that it's fucking hilarious, but you seriously listen to it with a straight face? The Final Countdown, seriously? That's even sillier than What is Love. There's both of those songs were used on comedy shows to great effect, What is Love on SNL and The Final Countdown on Arrested Development. They're cheesy as fuck, quintessential pop songs that have nothing worthwhile to say.
Then you go on to list some of the most overplayed songs known to man, shit that might have been alright for about 5 minutes back when they come out, but now, after being used in car commercials and KFC ads just end up sounding like gears turning in the corporate marketing machine.
About the only song I can agree with you on is Don't Fear the Reaper, but even that is overplayed. Burning for You is decent as well.
And Audioslave? Seriously? One of the worst bands to appear in the last ten years.

Since when do songs have to mean anything?
You're clearly the kind of person who listens to 'real' music, right?
Very open minded.

I listen to a wide variety of music, and I don't have a problem listening to music that isn't exactly intellectual (I dig Electric Six), but we're talking about "What Is Love?" and "The Final Countdown" here. Two songs that are just cheesy and insipid. There's nothing wrong with enjoying them, but putting them on a list of truly amazing songs that you want to listen to over and over again is just retarded.

They're both uplifting, feel-good songs.
Btw, if you look at the top of the page, it says 'awesome', not truely amazing.

They're both uplifting, feel-good songs.
Maybe to you, but thematically neither is an "uplifting song". And even if they were, that doesn't make them any less cheesy and insipid, or any less out of place on a list of "awesome songs you don't want to end". Sure, this all comes down to taste, but anyone seriously arguing that these two songs are deserving of such praise has none.
Btw, if you look at the top of the page, it says 'awesome', not truely amazing.
You want to argue semantics? Alright, I'll oblige.
Explain to me the difference between awesome and amazing?
Here, I'll even give you a sample scenario for context:
Billy does a wheelie on his motorcycle.
Ted says "Wow, that wheelie was awesome Billy!"
Dave says "Wow, that wheelie was truly amazing Billy!"
Have Ted and Dave expressed a different sentiment?

867-5309 - Only because it's been stuck in my head for about a month now, I don't even know who plays it.

Float On - Modest Mouse
Stigmata - Ministry
The Headmaster's Ritual - The Smiths
Meat Is Murder - The Smiths
Date Rape - Sublime
Kiss Off - Violent Femmes
Add It Up - Violent Femmes

They are both very vocal songs, they make people want to sing.
Awesome = really good.
Amazing = exceptional, hard to beat.

haddaway - what is love?
blue oyster cult - dont fear the reaper, burning for you
Uh, yeah, you're gay. What Is Love is so redundant its retarded. And way to pick the most cliché Blue Öyster songs you could think of. I loathe Don't Fear the Reaper because faggots like you just know the song from Saturday Night Live.
Blue Öyster Cult - 7 Screaming Diz-Busters
Global Deejays - Sounds of San Francisco
Dead Kennedys - I Am the Owl
GWAR - We Kill Everything
Queen - Dead On Time

Maybe "What is Love", but "The Final Countdown" is carried by it's main hook more than it's vocals.
Awesome = really good.
Amazing = exceptional, hard to beat.
Wrong.
Awesome:
1. inspiring awe: an awesome sight.
2. showing or characterized by awe.
3. Slang. very impressive: That new white convertible is totally awesome.
Amazing:
1. causing great surprise or sudden wonder.
In fact, going by the actual definitions of the word, Awesome actually has more gravity to it than Amazing.
Maybe you should just stop posting now? It's obvious you don't know shit about shit.

what is love is not popularized by SNL, its popularized by the movie "a night at the roxburry"
also to the guy whos said i picked cliche blue oyster cult songs:
if you read the most then youll see that i said songs that are awesome the first time you here them, and if you listen to BOC then you probably thought dont fear the reaper was awesome the first time you heard it.
also, a lot of people like the song "dont stop believing" by journey, most associate it with family guy (most who had never heard it before that). it is my class song. i would have chosen "cut you up w/ a linoleum knife", but at least its not "graduation" by better than ezra.
dont stop believin is very awesome, awesome enough to inspire a majority of people to pick a non-gay graadution song, like "graduation." when a song like that sways the minds of stuck up preppy people, its got to be good.
those kinds of kids dont listen to anything like that. they mostly listen to the "top 10".
also, i know my list contains a lot of "over played" songs, but if they werent awesome, they wouldnt have been over played.

What the fuck are you even talking about? What "comebacks" did I get from Google?
The only thing I got from a website was the definitions of the words "Awesome" and "Amazing" (since you were obviously quite unclear on what they meant) which I got from Dictionary.com. How does that have anything to do with Google?
The fact of the matter is you got your sorry ass owned, and now the best you've got to save face is "LOL WELL YOU DIDN'T EVEN MAKE YOUR INSULTS UP YOU GOT THEM FROM GOOGLE!!!1!!".
Seriously, just stop posting, you look like even more of a whiny, butthurt retard every time you do.
Oh, and it's spelled blatantly. When you're talking about what kind of smarts someone has, and what a "simple mind" they have, maybe you should be sure to spell correctly in your post?

Blatently is not an acceptable way of spelling the word no matter where you are from.
It's not spelled blatently in the UK, it's not spelled blatently in the US.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you're just stupid.

I agree in part that if an artist can't make a great album, they aren't worth much time, that being said...there are those artists that sometimes pop out these little amazing gems from who knows where. But yah, if an artist isn't goin to take the time and effort to really do there best when creating something, it kind of ruins it for me.

A Perfect Circle - Wake The Dead
