East Hastings - Godspeed You! Black Emperor

This is one of the best songs ever made. I heard it off of the 28 Days Later soundtrack when I saw the movie. I couldn't find it anywhere until I randomly heard about GYBE and downloaded some tracks to see if they were any good. I soon realized it had been the song I had heard of off the movie, the one I was looking for. It's an awesome song, it's called East Hastings.

They have better songs IMO, but yeah, a great band. I was pretty damn surprised when I heard them in 28 Days Later. Good to see them getting more exposure, but very odd at the same time. At least they picked a good opportunity. I didn't feel that the song was cheapened at all, and they didn't put it on the soundtrack or anything.

I'd recommend getting everything they've done that you can get your hands on, honestly. I think you'd like most of it if you dig East Hastings.

Might wanna check out A Silver Mt. Zion while you're at it, as they share several very important members with Godspeed. "Born Into Trouble..." is a good Silver Mt. Zion album to start with, and I'd recommend "This Is Our Punk Rock..." if you like that.
