I don't know if a thread like this has been started many times over but I've really been into sound scores for a while now I enjoy them more than most music now a days, just wondering what your favoruite soundtracks are and why, and also any recommendations you might have, my current favourites are:

Silent Hill 2
- just gives me a a really creepy feel but soothing at the same time, sorta adventourish in a creepy way

I'ts All Gone, Pete Tong
- just amazing in general, specially the piano tracks

A Scanner Darkly(Golden Arm Trio)
- again, a litle deppressing, but just so surreal, i love it

Lock Stock & Two Smocking Barrells -
a good mix of oldies gives me a party sort of trippy feel

Dead Mans Shoe's - amazing acoustic tracks just make me feel at home and really soothing and emotional

I was just coming in here to mention Koyaanisqatsi. :D Amazing stuff. "Pruit Igoe" and "Resource" are two of the best tracks I've heard on a soundtrack.

The Truman Show also had a good one, featuring a decent bit of Philip Glass.

I'd also look into the soundtracks for 28 Days Later, Requiem for a Dream, and American Beauty.

And this is possibly just me, but I loved the music in The Terminator. Those '80s keyboard lines were just so badass... I usually find myself ignoring the movie and rocking out to the music in the more intense scenes.

Fight Club had a pretty excellent soundtrack too, thanks to The Dust Brothers. I can't imagine that movie without their music...
