Any ideas how I can sort this shit out? Whenever I try to connect, I get the message that the connection has timed out. This never happened before I installed NOD32.

I'd like to keep the AV if possible, because it's awesome, but at the same time I want to be able to use IRC. I thought about disabling the firewall just to go on IRC, but I'm pretty sure that's a retarded idea. Not that I know how to disable it anyway.

Bear in mind I'm shocking at computers, so I might have overlooked and/or known nothing about a really simple solution.

You need to add an exception rule to your firewall for ports 6666,6667. Also, it might even be just blocking the program itself. Check your rules, and see what comes up.
