hey everyone, i get 25gb/month bandwidth..

i worked out there are around 30days a month so i can use roughly 800mb/day

i try to save up the usage each day and download a movie 2 or 3 times a week...i download but find myself immediately stopping the download after it finishes to prevent seeding...

something tells me seeding will waste my bandwidth and give me less gb to download with...

my question is, is this true? will seeding cost my bandwidth? my play says i can download 25gb/month but i cant find any information on uploading...is it all the same?

Basically both downloading and uploading are using bandwidth. Whether this is separated into a certain amount of downloads and a certain amount of uploads a month, or inclusive with your 25GB a month is something you need to ask your ISP.

Basically if your currently ISP counts the Uploads towards the monthly quota, then seeding will cost you usage.

(Telstra Bigpond counts Upload for usage)

it probably counts towards your total bandiwth. i have the same problem. however, it is considered rude to not seed a torrent. after all, people who seeded gave up their bandwith so you could enjoy your (il)legaly obtained files.

Out of interest, how do you guys speed up torrents?
I generally;
set to high bandwidth allocation
leave on overnight.
I am on 2 weeks christmas holidays, going to use it as a chance to download as much as possible :P

Man, bandwidth caps are getting ridiculous. So far today, I've downloaded about 10 gigs and uploaded about 5 gigs, and it's only 10pm. I couldn't imagine having a cap like that...

I'd recommend a new ISP if you can afford it, man.

25gb a month :eek:

my ISP has 60gb and I still think that's low.

anyway I wouldn't seed with that limit.
