So's anyway I got brought up on a receiving stolen property over $250 (2 counts) charge. I'm essentially fucked as I can't exactly beat it, there is a huge paper trail and I am on camera at the pawn shop selling a bunch of shit. I can't sell anybody out to satisfy the police so I am pretty much 'guilty' and am going to face the consequences.

Does anybody have experience with these charges? I am in MA, but experiences in other states works too. Please don't simply quote the law at me because that is more of a 'potential sentence'. My record is clean enough except for an OUI that I am getting on the same day.

So has anybody been convicted of this or know what I am likely to get??

I have no personal experience, and it is entirely up to the judge, but on first offense property crimes the most likey would be probation and restitution.

This is, once again, a situation that would be best hadled by an attorney. They know the ins and outs in your jurisdiction and in many cases they can work out a deal with the prosecutor where you plead to a lesser charge and make sure you don't wind up doing time.

Good luck!

I don't think you will do time for it. Did you mean you have a DUI charge from the same arrest/incident? If you've never been arrested before, talk to your lawyer about pleading to a CWOF-continuance without a finding. My first arrest I had 3 receiving stolen property charges and a few other big charges and my lawyer got me a cwof.

when you're cwof'ed, your sentence will be suspended and in the meantime you will be on supervised probation. if you successfully complete probation, your case will be dismissed
