The plural is intentional. Some of us have seen the latest version, if only to see Paris Hilton simulating sex.
Serious film buffs have probably seen the 1953 version starring Vincent Price--the frst 3-D feature film, BTW. I saw it in the theater as a pre-teen, and almost jumped out of my seat.
You may not know that that one was a remake of a 1933 version--Mysteries of the House of Wax (I think)--which was directed by (drum roll) Micheal Cortiz. The name should be familiar, being that he directed Casablanca. This one starts Lionel Atwood and Fay Wray (yeah, the girl in the original King Kong). This was shot in a primitive verison of technicolor, and looks pretty good on the DVD.
Both of the oldies are highly recommended.
