So I was wondering what does everyone think of themed restaurants?

I found ^ that and thought it was funny/ a little weird. Would you eat at those places?

What are your views on themed restaurants? Should there be more, should they be bombed into oblivion or should we ignore them?

There are a few reviews in there.

They can be alright for a nice bite to eat. Just don't expect too much from them.

I'm not too big into theme restaurants. Probably the closest I normally venture to such are ethnic restaurants with lots of decor from whatever region of the world they're intended to represent the cuisine of, but I don't think that particularly qualifies as a 'theme restaurant.'

Though there is one I enjoy. Cheeseburger in Paradise, owned by Jimmy Buffett. I stop in the local one every now and again for, you guessed it! A cheeseburger and multiple mixed drinks one might think of when going to the beach. (mojito, margarita etc.)

I like the ones where the waiters dress up and act like they're really knowledgeable about the menu and how to serve.

Themed restaurants can be great for the kids. I remember when I was but a wee lad and my life's great ambition was to have a birthday party at Showbiz Pizza.

The arcade was awesome, but the dancing bears were beyond lame, even at that age.

Place on Belmont in Chicago called Kuma's Corner. Metal themed restaurant. I'd imagine you'd only like the place if you liked metal music (or can put up with it long enough to enjoy a delicious meal). It's all they play there, all the servers are pierced/tatted metal heads, and all the food is named after metal bands. Everything there is delicious, I've been there many times and have yet to be dissatisfied.

Example of the menu:

PANTERA BURGER 10oz. burger served with Roasted Pablano Pepper, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese and Monetary Jack Cheese Ranchero Sauce and Tortilla Strips

FUMANCHU BURGER 10oz. burger served with Grilled Japanese Eggplant, Teriyaki sauce, Wasabi Mayo, Frizzled Daikon Radish

JUDAS PRIEST BURGER Bacon, Bleu Cheese Dressing with Apples, Walnuts, and dried cranberries

MASTODON BURGER BBQ Sauce, Cheddar, Bacon, Frizzled Onions

Lulz @ Judas Priest burger being covered in fruit.
