So I bought this Age of Mythology game from Wal-mart for 10 bucks just out of nostalgia to play video games again. I take it home, I try it out, it's cool and everything, but then when I try going online it says "Your serial cannot be blah blah at the time, try again in a few minutes." It doesn't work. It worked like once or twice, but that was it.

Now I can't go online for shit, but the thing is just to get AoM Customer Support they charge $35 bucks for each call when the game only costs $10! What the fuck is up with that shit? I thought I knew Microsoft better than that, I can't believe they'd pull off cheap scams like this.

Does anybody know how I can fix this? I tried looking for a keygen, but I figured they wouldn't work online either.

Ideas?

That's pretty fucked up; the game has always worked fine for my. Try adjusting your firewall settings.

I too bought it at Wal-Mart for $10 alongside the Age of Empires Collector's Edition for the same price. Haven't installed AoM yet, I'll get around to it this evening and let you know how it goes.

AoM had a lot of issues about serials when it was released. Email ensemble or whoever made it.
Also, the AI is fucking hideous as illustrated by your allies sending a small archer squad to kill a neutral fortress while their base is being ransacked.

Shimo style = regicide (everybody starts with a king and a castle and if the king dies, it's game over)

+ Lock teams = off, so you're free to make and break alliances with anyone.

Basically, you have to build alliances with people, trade a lot and can make sneaky deals with other players to try and betray yourself to victory.

If you can't sort out the install or fix it with firewalls, download Hamachi to establish a connection.
