So i connected to a local (unsecured) wireless network using windows xp. anyways i left my pc running downloading files for a couple hours and came back to find that a residential gateway and "shared docs" was now on my computer in the new location called "network places". how and why did this happen? is this a security issue?

i also checked the open ports on my pc and 7,11,19,21,80,110 are all open. are any of these an issue? btw i do have an ftp server up. its just a new pc and i didn't expect all of these ports to be open and i didn't expect a residential gateway to be on it when i got home...?

thanks in advance.

peace

21 is obviously open due to your ftp server...not sure about rest though.
