fixed ones look cooler, is it so you can reduce the size of the gun?

Yeah, and the length of pull can be adjusted quickly, say if your wearing armour or if you're 6'6" and your wife is 5'0" and you both like to use the one gun.

I always shoot in fully closed position.

For I find it offers better recoil management per my shooting style.

I like to shoot either one or two clicks back from fully forward. Fully collapsed is just too short for me. I do like it short though because it allows me to be closer to the sight aperture which makes it larger and speeds target acquisition. If I get too close though the charging handle bumps me in the nose during recoil.

 My charging handle doesn't go back on recoil. I think your gun is broke. :p

No, but the entire rifle does. And the charging handle happens to be in front of your nose.

What the fuck is slinged?

Dumbass.

The only full combat gear you have is your zip up leather mask and your giant mulatto strap on.

I actually thought about an AR grip and collapsible stock adapter for my shotgun while I was deer hunting with it last week. Because A: a pistol grip is more comfortable for me to shoot offhand and B: A shorter stock would be quicker to shoulder when its colder than hell out, I am layered up on clothes, and have a heavy coat over that. Both A: and B: would benefit me deer hunting.

I take a moment to welcome you to our forum, and, as a first pointer, I'd like to say that typing in caps is not adviseable, as it is considered an expresion of shouting, which as you know is considered impolite in most social situations.
I would also like to add that proper grammar skills are much appreciated to avoid you getting flamed.
That being said, and your opinion being sound, I hope you can become one of our regulars, with just a few simple steps.
Welcome.

I've never had the charging handle fly back in my face from improperly chambering a round. Anyone?

It just doesn't seem possible the way the charging handle and the bolt work.

It isn't. Not unless either it's a very non standard AR or something is very, very gravely wrong with your gun.

You would probobly like it! I have the mossberg 500 tactical with an AR stock on it. Pretty sweet.

Just making sure I didn't something. I mean, the bolt/charging handle on most other weapons I've fired tends to move back regardless of whether the weapon is properly in battery if the firing pin can hit the primer on the bullet. I normally just sort of assume it chambered properly in that case. Then again, I was at the range when a friend's rifle fired out of battery and almost killed me once.

Yeah, but I'd probably get laughed out of deer camp when I pulled that out to hunt deer with.

^^^R_L, The charging handle on an AR can work independently of the bolt carrier. You can pull the charging handle back and lock the bolt open then push the charging handle back in with the bolt still open. But if you pull the charging handle back and let it go, the bolt will pull it in until its latched.

Hahaha. Groundhog Whacka, that reminds me of when one of my cousins friends came to elk camp sporting a mossberg tactical, ghost ring voodoo shit and all, whole-heartidly expecting to be able to take an elk with a slug(!).

After a couple of hours of everyone in camp pointing, laughing, and watching my uncle tear him a new one, he finally understood that his stupid ass just isn't a mighty enough warrior to get that close to an elk. I gave him my M44 to use. Let's just say he's not a great white hunter or anything of the sort.

He felt better when everyone shot it when we were leaving, since the general consensus (even among the old cowboys) was that this "scattergun" would be pretty mean to have in a corner by the front door.

it allows you to adjust the length of pull. it makes it so you can shoot long range and also be able to shoot in close quarters if need(like a house). it looks cool (in my opinion).

if the charging handle did not lock properly you are not charging the weapon properly. When loading a rifle you always pull back and let go not baby the charging handle home, meaning when you cock it you dont hold the charging handle while you let it go home. You pull it backand let go and let it slam home. Or you ust push the mag release button and let it slam home without ever touching the chraging handle. i

i think those are a ripoff. You can just get a after market stock if it is even needed. Really all it does for you is look cool. i can do everything with my mossberg 500 that you can with your "tacticool" one.

Im sure you can. But mine handles better. Holds extra rounds, has a bad ass breaching muzzle that can tear shit up and holds 6+1. And I paid $230 for it. I dont see how that is a ripoff.

Im trying to sell it because I dont have any need for any kind of shotgun anymore.

Exactly. I've just never had it work the other way around. It seems impossible, and thankfully is impossible. I was just wondering if I was going to have to tear a storebought one apart to see what exactly got fucked up in one I out together. I did have an out of spec lower with my build, which thankfully I was able to check with one from the store in another room.

In other words, if you're in a zombie survival crisis, a midget will have incentive to slash the backs of your ankles because he knows he will be able to comfortably use your gun?

Some people like to adjust the LOP a little when prone, like you're supposed to for real accurate shooting, if the situation allows for it.

Yup. But mine has the AR style collapsable stock with the shell holder attached. You can take out the screws for the stock and voila!- you have a persuader.

Here ya go. Next to some other guns for comparison. Ive only shot about 20 rounds of Hornady TAP through it, with that recoil hardly exists. The rubber buttpad helps alot too.

I havent tried the Knoxx stock, only seen a bunch of positive reviews.

Im just not a big shotgun dude and Im trying to sell it.

A friend of mine bought a Knoxx stock. It's okay. I've shot his shotgun extensively, and I'd rather test out a Hogue stock, to be honest.
