Well I finally got around to getting the new Light This City album, which unfortunately is their last, and I must say it is a pretty tasty metal treat. If you haven't heard of them but enjoy thrash metal you should check them out.
On to the album, the tone of the guitars is somewhat reminiscent of what Skeletonwitch had going on in Beyond the Permafrost, with a tad more high end, while the actual guitar riffs maintain a very "bouncy" quality to how they are carried out. The solos are well executed, but some times they feel as if they are out of place in the structure of the song. The vocals are spot on as far as I am concerned, Larua Nichol really hit her stride with this album compared to how the vocals balanced out on the other albums with respect to the rest of the band. The drumming is your standard thrash affair. Not their fastest album, nor their heaviest album, but a good way to go out with one last solid album. Worth picking up if you love metal.
