It's becoming ridiculous how advanced The Sims are getting. I'm curious to see how many more sequels come out and how advanced they will be. I invision extremely life-like online simulation to the point where nobody will even need to leave their houses. Do you think they can keep bringing out games though? I think they can. They have a fucking huge fanbase.

I got into the first one for xbox, and seriously was 1 step away from beating it or "retireing". But managing all the friends, managing every second really just sucks. People buy these games, and always will.

Food gives you energy, what about if you just plugged yourself into the mains?

Because the first 2 weren't mind numbingly boring or anything.

All I would ever do is cheat to get a shit ton of money, build house, find a way to kill my people, and thats it.

I find it hilarious if you look at the top sellers for PC games, 8 out 10 will be a Sims game, but if you look at the Top Rated games, you won't see the Sims at all.

Yeah, because a few simple scripts and a random decision generator is 'advanced'.

If somebody could program a genuine random decision generator then that would indeed be incredibly advanced. None of that seed bullshit, either.

I'll get it no doubt.

I'll play it for a straight week.

I'll then throw it out of the window.

The Sims sucks, I bought (no seriously, I spent money on it) the first one, sucked. I played it on PS2 and it was slightly better as I remember it. I downloaded the Sims 2 a while ago and it was pretty boring but I had nothing else to do, so I played one guy until he got stuck somewhere, got bored, started another character, used cheats and bought a mansion, got bored, deleted.

fap fap fap?

My guy kept being attracted to dudes, though, so I made him sleep around with all the bitches to get him to stop being so gay.

I guess Totse doesn't have many Sims fans... :(

But I just gotta say, ALL console versions of the Sims suck major balls. The PC version is the true version, and only good one.

Oh, and cheating in the Sims is what makes it boring. Don't cheat.

Dude, I had a blast with The Sims. Then I got TS2 with all the expansions, and they just made the game amazing.

I'm checking out TS3 stuff, and its looking pretty sweet.

Personally, I love building and furnishing the houses, creating so many different people with their own personalities and back stories, then setting them about and seeing how things turn out. It'd always be pretty sweet. :]

I think Sims 3 will be a great iteration in the series. They are removing many of the more tedious and limiting elements of it, such as needs and the old personality system. In spite of that, I will wait until it has a few expansions under its belt.

I'll get it, I like making houses, and moding stuff in.

Since Sims 3 is going to be real time, I don't see why they didn't do the most obvious choice and make it online.

They tried that once, and it failed miserably.

Yes, but it was poorly implemented. It could be like second life. Except.. not as gay.

How could they do it so it isn't a Second Life clone?

The Sims are just a step up from playing with dolls. Putting it in video game form doesn't make it any less boring.

But it does make it AUTOMATED! It's like having someone else play with your dolls, after you've made your dollhouse.

I love the Sims series and i am definitely gonna check out the third one. I think the coolest new features are being able to control your character at work and that you can walk around town without a loading screen.

I'm a pretty big sims fan actually ...

I got the first one with every exansion up untill "on vacation", Got the second one with "open for business", "seasons" and "appartment life"

I'll get the third one too probably and hopefully get some decent return in terms of "hours of fun" per euro spent.

Seriously, in hour fun/cost, the sims series rocks, surpassed in my case just by the GTA series
