I also like the self sufficiency and preparedness being armed provides, although I'm not one of those guys who banks on the world ending and hoards TP and beef jerky, but I value my firearms like my fire extinguishers or the seatbelts in my car.

But mostly it's just a hobby and a pastime.

I also like to exercise my rights in general. All of them, not just the 2nd amendment, even to the point of being annoying.

The time I faced the most serious situation I have faced, where I felt that I would really have to draw (thank God it did not come to that), I only had my P08 in the holster. And trust me I would have much rather not been there at all, but even that small weapon gave me a measure of confidence. As for 6' being skinny don't underestimate size just because you see UFC fighters who are light heavyweights and 205lbs. I 6' 180lbs guy can be bigger then you think. One of my soldiers is 6' and built but not defined, works out an hour 6 days a week and is only 165lbs. Now add another 15lbs on him and good luck standing up to that person. By government I'm assuming you mean Federal Reserve, and NO they don't control the money just the output. They are nothing more then a business with a government seal. Nothing more. Some months they print more money some months they print less depending on the order from the Federal Banks who then dish it out and it slowly trickles down. Bottom line is the money is already on the market most money produced, roughly 90% each year is just replacing older currency. The dollar bill has roughly an 8-12 month life cycle if IIRC. Coins is even more for obvious reasons they have to melt them down and can't just burn/print more.

Some of my guns are for hunting, some of them are for personal/home defense. i am safe with my firearms. I grew up where I had to kill most of the meat I ate. That's why I loved my rifle. I honestly believe I would not be alive today if I didn't learn how to hunt, track, process my kills, and use a rifle effectively.

I also enjoy taking a day to relax and perform surgery with bullets at 600 yards.
