Hi?

I recently got a computer. I was told that when I am not using the computer I should unplug everthing from it, like the headset, wireless mouse thing, the power cord thing, otherwise it's bad for the computer?

I ask because the old one I had back home I never had to unplug anything. Although that was a desktop and this one is a laptop so I don't know if it makes a difference. Furthermore, wouldn't the constant plugging/unplugging actually cause more wear and tear to the computer (due to constant friction)?

Another question: is it ok that I leave the computer on when not using it? I was told that this is actually better for the comp but not sure how true this is.

Thanks.

Constant plugging/unplugging will do nothing but wear down the connectors. Whoever told you that should be shot.

Op, unless you have Obsessive Compulsive disorders your computer will be fine.

Was the 'hi?' a question too? In that case; sure, I suppose.

The guy who told you that was either messing with ya or an idiot. About leaving the PC on, whether it's really better or not is debatable but at least it's practical to keep it on. But, since it's a laptop, you want to have it in sleep or standby mode, otherwise it'll heat up unnessecary which will reduce the lifespan. So just close the lid when you leave.
