I just finished mixing this song, it's the first one where I've done everything myself so excuse the simplicity of the beat. Let me know if there's anything I should change, specifically in regards to tweaking the levels because I'm never quite sure if they're right.

Yay, a response!!

Everything in the song is me from the back up vocals to the rapping to the beatboxing to the keyboard playing. Over christmas break I'm going to animate a music video to it and try to make it sound a little less amateurish. I'll probably throw the video up somewhere on Totse when I'm done, in hopes of someone enjoying it.

Straight dope. The rapping vocals were a little, as you said, amateurish, but I like it.

Now, the tricky part. I want to figure out exactly what makes it sound amateur and change it. There's a few things I'm looking for which I think I can fix: I fall off-tempo a few times (right after the first chorus specifically), the mic isn't the best (theres a few "s" and "p"'s in there that make me cringe everytime I hear them), the chorus volume needs to be bumped up, and maybe some more back up vocals to make it sound "full". If you can think of anything else I would appreciate it, I'm a fan of criticism.

Well, I just got a decent studio set up a few months ago, so right now I only have a few worth listening too but I'll soon have more. The rest of the beats aren't created from scratch, that makes me feel like a lousy theif but what can I do.

The beat there is from Jedi Mind Tricks. I wrote that poem when I was 13 and just re-recorded it recently. I'm still surprised that something I created I was 13 wasn't utter crap, haha.
