View Full Version : Firefox sucks.
It used to be awesome but now it's disgustingly ugly and quite slow comparative to the previous installment. The resulting frustration has left me quite constipated.

I find that it's OK...if I don't have more than 4 tabs open & if I bother to close & reboot it when it begins to lag. Usually I try to shut down the whole dang machine before it goes into spasms of self-loathing where it can only look at the turmoil within. Totally immune to my commands. :(

FF fan boys can fuck off.
FireFox runs slow, crashes and it's a broken program. The only thing it has going for it is add-ons. As for "it's more secure" bullshit, it's not, you just read that somewhere.

I am quite content with Firefox, you just need to get used to it.
He handles my bookmarks very well and thanks to the add-ons i rarely have to go outside of my browser environment to work on anything else.
All other browsers are good in there own right.
Try them all, before settling on to one.
I like it because when you want more than one window/tab its better than IE...BUT
The fucking shit seems to stall ALL THE FUCKING TIME! Like the max thing in the right corner dissapears and you can not do anything...its like I dont know all of them (versions) we have had do this and you would think they COULD HAVE fixed the glitch by now...I have heard a lot of people say they experience this..
I use to use IE but I like multiple tabs at the click of a button and IE can not handle that usually...

FF doesnt lag for me.....not even on my parent's slow ass laptop.
If i leave it running for like 2 hours with 20 tabs open it'll lag like a mother fucker, but otherwise it's like 100x better then IE
That's why I use Opera.
Yeah I use Opera too. Hell I started using Mozilla up until Firefox came out. I used Firefox for a couple years until about Feburary. I tried out Opera and it was a lot better than Firefox. It might not be compatible with some websites but I can usually have a shitload of tabs open and it doesn't seem to slow down, unless I have a shitty internet connection. It has better features like Speed dial and if accidently close out, I can go back to what page I was reading. I don't remember Firefox being able to do that. Although I haven't used it in so long I have forgotten the features it had. I'll continue using it until I find something better.
Really? I find it runs alot faster then internet explorer. It just slows down too friggin much when there's multiple tabs open.

Does Opera have:
Mouse Gestures
Foxmarks
Stumble Upon
Adblocker Plus
I know it has mouse gestures, but I think that's about it. I agree that opera is faster, but I like my extensions. If only google chrome had extensions.

True, kinda, but I look at it a little differently than you. I tend to think all browsers suck, each and every one of them.
Which is why I use three of them on a daily basis. I keep all three minimized ready to go when needed.

....The fuck are you talking about....?
My school even uses Fire Fox because it works so well and almost never crashes, and that's on machines with 256Mb RAM.
No matter where I am, I have NEVER been able to open internet explorer for more than 5 minutes without
"INTERNET EXPLORER HAS PREFORMED AN ILLEGAL OPERATION AND MUST BE SHUT DOWN."
Though it does get slow when I open 20+ tabs, I usually have 5-10 opened at once. Always assumed I just needed more ram (I only have 512Mb)
Care to explain how it's a "Broken Program"?

Actually I just discovered mouse gestures today. It also has an adblocker. I had ads pop up on me all the on Firefox, but never once on Opera. Does Firefox have Wand passwords? Is Foxmarks similar to Speed dial?

I kind of wonder if this newest version of F is a bit wonkier?
I know that about 6 months ago a version came out that was slow & it disabled my scroll wheel too. After about a month a newer version came out that was faster & my scroll wheel worked again.
I imagine a newer version will come out in a few weeks that will work better...
It'll have it's own problems though. It's a wonky work in prrrroooogressss...

Is Foxmarks similar to Speed dial?
Foxmarks takes your bookmarks and backs them up to a remote server.
Lets say I use two computers and on comp1 I add a new bookmark, when I close firefox that bookmark is backed up to the server. I then open firefox on comp2. It checks for changes in bookmarks, sees that a new one was added, and quickly downloads/adds it.
Very useful tool, and you never have to worry about losing your bookmarks, reformating, ect.
