All your effort to hide your pix from the eyes of the public is futile no matter what "rules" you are going to set....thanks to technology. Ya know, pondering Meta's eventual demise just gave me a great idea for what could be one of the most fun and whimsical game threads yet. We could come up the "Metaphysicist Dead Pool". The game would be really easy....just set a projected traffic increase percentage, and everyone gets to guess when the site starts blossoming again and the goal of traffic increase is hit.

Whether we would want to track the site entirely or just specific forums.....we could go by either Alexa rankings or Zok could create some kind of robot to monitor the traffic. Then whenever we hit the increase, whoever came closest to guesstiminating the amount of time it took to reach that increase could win a prize.

Personally I think a 25% increase would be a decent number.....something that could be attained in probably just a couple of months (maybe even weeks depending on word of mouth referrals?) and would keep people's normally short attention spans interested in the whole thing.

Well, from what I understand, no. In the smaller issue - of it being just about my pics - I obviously don't mind that. But, as was pointed out to me and as I already said, the issue is much bigger.

But in a sense that's almost a non issue since this isn't very likely to become an issue with anyone else's pics. I honestly don't see the fascination so many of you have to want to see my pics - especially the Halloween costume one.

Totse isn't the US - it's not even a country. The first amendment quote on the front page refers to Jeff's right to post what he wants to post on his own site.

Users have never had total freedom of speech here and never will. We do allow a lot more freedom than most sites do. But you still can't expect to be posting anything you want.

It boils down to that this is a private web site. Owned by Jeff and run by his proxies [ie: Mods and Admins]. It can't be compared to a country because it's nothing like one. The are no citizens here, so no rights, per se.

It's more like an arcade or a skate park or something like that. Those are privately owned and have rules you must follow to be allowed to use the place. If you get thrown out of an arcade for breaking their rules you don't have a leg to stand on if you try to fight it by saying you have the right to do what ever it was that you did. I am not going to comment on this because I am not a moderator and it is not in my place to determine whether exceptions are to be made or not. That being said, I do imagine there will be what we call "mitigating factors" and I suppose they could in theory play a role.

Several infractions are worth less than 10 points, and thus you won't be banned for incurring a single one of those infractions. I can't remember any specific ones, but I'm sure a moderator will back me up.

Just to help out, here is an example of 5 and 3 point infraction offenses, and then of course you have your 10 and 15 point infractions, which actually cause the goof to be booted right out of the park.
