Alright guys, i've started constructing an Xbox 360 Laptop. I went and picked up the 360 Premium, along with the majority of the parts that I will need for this mod. However, i've hit a standstill. What I origionally planned to do is connect a 15 inch widescreen flatpanel to the 360 laptop's Chassis. Everything will work, in theory, except for the problem that I have no way of connecting that monitor to the Xbox. You see, i'm not using a standard VGA monitor, i'm using a Laptop screen.

Now, what i'd love to have happen would be to find a simple XGA to VGA pinout, to solder the points accordingly and continue on this project. I do not think it will be that easy though. So what i'm asking the community is, Does anyone have any idea how to convert a laptop monitor to allow it to accept VGA input? If pictures are needed, i'll post some as soon as I can.

Some additional info on the laptop screen:
LG.Philips LCD, model LP150X08

BTW There are 30 pins on the connecter from the screen to the motherboard.

Thanks

In short: I'm afraid it's the kind of thing where if you're asking, you won't be able to do it.

There's no standards for LCD panel pinouts, and the LCD's controller will be built into the motherboard. Those 30 pins feed the screen directly - you will need to build a controller to drive the screen with a VGA input.

Not something which is easily done...:(

This is going to be so much easier if you just use a standard LCD.

Yeah it'd be alot easier with a standard LCD, just figured i'd ask here and see if it's a waste of time or not. Thanks for the replies guys, just wanted a second opinion before shelling out for the LCD.

Will post pics when finished, since i'll be buying a monitor I may make it more like those HP PC/Laptop sort of things that came out last year (19 inch monitor and keyboard, basically :P).

Found something that may help in this project. Seems like it'd work, but I need some sleep soon here, so i'll probably give it a try in the morning.
