http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/from_our_own_correspondent/7779261.stm.
that car looks pretty impressive, considering they only started making cars 5 years ago.
warren buffet's invested in the company.
man, i wish i had money.
then i could invest in that as well.

China makes SHIT products, and from all I've read, their cars are no exception.

Hell, even the POS Chevy/Daewoo Aveo's passenger compartment doesn't collapse like a soda can. And the steering column doesn't punch you in the face either:

The Chinese government doesn't care if a couple hundred thousand (~220000 in 2003,) Chinese people a year die in auto accidents. The World Health Organization estimates half a million Chinese will die in auto accidents by 2020. Their people are expendable, and if it will save resources to make unsafe cars, so be it.
They would have to step their game up if they want to sell cars in the real world.

yeah.
most chinese car's are death traps.
that company however seems to be at the top of their game.
the chinese don't make high quality products, they sell in volume.
if they were going to make cars,
they would make 100 $1000 cars, as opposed to one $100 000 car
but hopefully this hybird car will be decent

Haha, lot of good airbags would do when the whole steering column comes apart and is shoved in your face on a front end collision.
I'm curious as to why the Chinese aren't exporting these things to America already. Cars in general, I mean. Do they not yet meet our safety standards or something?
We're talking about the same people whose baby formula poisons and kills their children. I fail to see why their cars should be any better than the other shit they produce.

Likely 90% of the shit in your house was made there.
But yeah, I don't trust their standards either.

China gets an unnessarily harsh treatment most of the time. I'll come back to this another night though. I'd still wait another 10 to 15 years before I'd buy a car made wholly in China, to a wholly Chinese design.

China bought the rights to the MG Montego and Maestro and are still building them, albeit with slightly updated looks and engines. They're pretty unsafe cars by modern standards but when they were released I think they were supposed to be surprisingly safe.
