So I just found a powercord for the ol' Dreamcast and I'm looking for some games to play.
So far, I've got Marvel vs. Capcom 2: Remix. Somebody was nice enough to change some of the crappy music from the original version. "I'm gonna take you for a riiiiide!!!" makes me want to beat my head against walls after a while.
It's just as awesome as I remember it.
Currently I'm getting Skies of Arcadia, Phantasy Star Online, Soul Caliber, and either Quake 3 Arena or Unreal Tournament. Anything else I should look into from this long-lost system?
Edit: forgot motherfucking Crazy Taxi heheheh.

I was coming in here to suggest Quake 3 Arena, but you already mentioned it. I will say that I liked it a whole lot more than UT. I'm not huge on FPS games, but it's always been one of my favorites.
The Sonic Adventure games were pretty decent, if I remember right.

Quake 3 it is then. I was kinda stuck between the two.

If it was on the PC i would reccomend unreal, but as its not you cant get the extra maps or change the bot's names resulting in hilarity "Madeline Mccan shredded Barak Obama"
Space Channel 5.
Chu chu chu!
Shadowman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadow_Man_(video_game)) is a pretty cool game, but it takes alot of patience. I'm not exactly sure how it is on dreamcast though, I've only played the N64 and PC versions.

Shenmue I & II.

Half Life: Gold.
It was never released, but it's extremely easy to find it on Torrent sites, and it's even easier to burn downloaded games onto CD's to play them on the Dreamcast.
I don't even own a Dreamcast and I've burned a few games for my friends.

Toy Commander. No dreamcast setup is complete without Toy Commander.
Also Armada, to a lesser extent.

Shenmue I & II.
I want to recommend this but I've learned that it's outside most peoples' interest.
Get them anyway.

It was pretty good on Dreamcast. At least from what I remember of it from back when it came out.
Not really sure how well it would hold up today, but it was a decent game for it's time.

Yeah, my only complaint with it is the pacing early on, there's agood 8 or so hours of game play before you can fight any of the serial killers and the game is a bit hard until you can get atleast a level 4 shadowgun charge.

Holy shit I haven't even thought of Shadowman since I was in middle-school.

Great suggestions from all. I'm enjoying the crap out of a lot of these games. Thanks. :D
I've been reading about something called Bleemcast. Supposedly it allows for PS1 games to be played on the Dreamcast.
Anybody know much about this or tried it?
edit: and while I'm on the subject, anybody recommend any homebrew for the DC?

Why the FUCK hasn't anyone mentioned Resident Evil: Code Veronica? It, for the most part, was the entry right before RE4 (there were some shitty spin-off type games), and up to that point, it was only (arguably) inferior to RE2.
It was a massive game, lots of cool enemies, interesting story, interesting characters, lots of cool weapons, great graphics (especially for its time), lots of cool locations...
Yeah, that was an awesome game.

Power Stone 2.
Best melee fighting game for the dreamcast.
Ever.

I forgot all about Code Veronica. Didn't they port it to the Gamecube?
Actually, it seems like a lot of the best DC games eventually got ported to other systems...

Shenmue I & II.
I spent a lot of time playing this game and the copy I had was 4 discs, not sure if it was supposed to be that way but I made it to the 4th disc and my brother broke it to piss me off.

I loved Soul Calibur, Quake 3: Arena, and Skies of Arcadia. Quake 3 Arena was only good because of online play, and I'm not sure what the online community would be like anymore.

Kill your brother. It's the only way to vengeance. :o

I remember Shenmue. That was a pretty cool game...like, didn't some guy kill your parents, and you spend the game living your life, trying to get money and fighting skills so you could go and get revenge?
Heh. Cool concept, but as I recall, the problem was that there was so much mundane, tedious shit you had to do.

Yeah like spending your days slavin as a dock worker.
You had to do that for just like one day man. If you needed money, just go gamble. A few minutes of gambling and you've made enough money for the rest of your journey.

Shenmue is one of the most boring games I've ever played.
It's story wasn't even very good anyway. Frankly, I'm glad it's sequels got canceled and all you dipshits who liked it (lol, Snoopy) will never see a conclusion.

A very misunderstood profession. :o
Which part is misunderstood? The oiled up man on man sex during those long voyages out to sea or the carousing with women when you sail into a port town?
I'm going to assume the latter because I'm sure the former was more than enough for you. I bet you couldn't wait to get back on that boat.

None of that ever occured. I only sailed inland waters. :o

Street Fighter 3 Third Strike
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Rez (trippy game)
Mars Matrix
Under Defeat (probably the best looking DC game, lots of fun too)
Bangai-O (crazy 2D shmup)
Tony Hawk 2 (not a big fan of skateboarding but it's a fun game nonetheless)
Resident Evil 2
Fire Pro Wrestling D (pretty deep wrestling game)
Bust a Move 4 (for when you just want a nice relaxed puzzle game)
Vigilante 8 (originally pigeonholed as a Twisted Metal clone, this is great simple fun and imo is better than the original Twisted Metal series)
These are the only games I still play occasionally on my Dreamcast. Lots of the more popular DC titles weren't that long lasting or fun for more than one play. I think all of these games I listed will keep you entertained for a long time.

^ That's a good list. And yes, I'll be busy for a long time.

From what I understand, Shenmue is one of those games that you either love or you rly fucking hate.
I havn't played it yet, but I might give it a try.
I've been told that the first disk is like 90% cutscenes...

I played Shenmue for maybe 2 hours... I just didn't get it. Walking around talking to people isn't a game to me. If I want a good story, I'll read a book or watch a movie. I could see the appeal of the game, but it just wasn't for me.
