Why? Many of humanity's most virulent diseases are zoonotic in origin. Tuberculosis, for example, was acquired through close contact with pigs, but over time we've developed immunities. AIDS is no different. Just that it's spreading faster due to ease of travel, and high population densities.

I can attest to you the fact that some are naturally immune. Just with every other virus on the planet, there are some out there that are immune. 2% seems a little high, for any immunity like that, less than 1% seems much more realistic.

They called it the Gay Cancer. Then around 82 or 83 a straight person contracted it through straight sex. After that it became a pandemic. scaring the crap out of everyone I knew up until the 1990s when the younger Generation had finally grown into adulthood and they seemed to be apathetic about the disease. There was a man from Kenya or the Congo who died in 1957 and was dug up in the 1990s who's corpse tested positive for the HIV virus. I read it is as many as 1 in 10 people wont be affected by the virus and if those 10% never took an HIV test they would never have known they have it.

I also wanted to point out that a friend of mine had a cousin who died from it. He was a drug user but I dont think he was into needles or heroin. I think he contracted it through sexual intercourse with a girl who also tested positive. The girl had slept with several other guys and they too contracted it. So it is really messed up to say it doesn't exist. What we should be fearing is when it mutates by breeding with the common flu virus and become air born.

Why the hell do people cling to the idea that simian HIV was transfered by a guy fucking a monkey? I think it has something to do with the way rumors spread and how outlandish things are so attention grabbing, like that whole trainwreck expression.
If you weigh out the evidence that a guy fucked a monkey vs. a guy ate infected meat, or even that there was blood to blood contact, it's quite obvious that no monkey fucking occurred.
When a virus transcends species, however closely related, it has to do a little evolving to get good at infecting the new species, because the DNA isn't the same as the other specie. As you know from bio, evolution is kind of a hit or miss crapshoot, and it would take a lot of exposure of the virus for one of the viruses to have the exact mutation that lets it infect people. If you take into consideration that a lot of africans eat monkeys because food isn't so bountiful, and that butchers cut their hands, it's easy to see that the exposure blood/blood from eating monkeys is going to be far greater than the exposure from the lonely guy fucking a monkey. Not to mention, if the guy was lonely enough to fuck a monkey, he's probably not sexually active enough to make it a problem for the general population.

Chimpanzees aren't immune to SIV, they just don't live long enough for it to become a problem:

Sayin the HIV virus isn't real is completly wrong no matter how you spin it. I think the conspiracy theory you might be confusing it with is the one where the HIV virus is actually harmless.

HIV is a retrovirus, they are very weak and simple and do not cause anything like the havoc seen with what people say about HIV/AIDS. Ive heard that the reason people can live with it for so long is that it is harmless and it is actually the drugs they give you that attack your immune system that make you sick. And supposdly the fact that we cant really find it is cuz its a harmless retrovirus that passed through are system like what happens when you get a cold or the sniffles, then its gone. But the antibodies remain for the rest of your life. We dont go around saying ppl have chicken pox because we have the antibodies against it, the antibodies remain for the rest of your life when you fend off a virus. And when you walk in a hospital and lets say you have Kaposis Sarcoms, normally they treat you for Kaposi's sarcoma obviously. If you go into a hospital and you ahve Kaposi's Sarcoma, AND you test positive for the HIV virus then you have AIDS and they put you on a cocktail fo drugs that attack your immune system. supposdly this all done for the benefit of the pharmaeutcetical industry.
