This movie looks like it should be pretty funny. Based on the trailer, looks like Jim Carrey is going back from his recent trend of serious/dramatic/romantic roles to his comedic roots. Hopefully it isn't just a remake of 'Liar Liar' where he couldn't lie.

The previews make it look like another re-hashed pop culture comedy with a few Jim Carrey-isms included. If it is bad, it will destroy his career.

Then "I Love You Phillip Morris" will destroy any semblance of a career Jim Carrey ever had. Either way, it's a lose-lose situation.

I like the concept of Yes man and apparently the book is really good and inspiring.

Gotta admit the though the trailer looks fairly mediocre.

It will be better than Liar Liar. I was sort of afraid of it being a rehash until I heard about the book, and Jim Carrey is awesome and can do no wrong*. And Yes Man won't have that annoying kid in it, and he's not a lawyer. It can't be worse.

(I haven't seen any of his shittier movies yet)

Meh. I never really thought he was that great at comedy. The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine were by far his best performances.

^Agreed, I never really liked that kind of humour.

Yeah, most of the critics have been giving this film bad reviews. We know from the previews that most of the comedy falls somewhere between the lines of abysmal pop culture comedies like "Meet the Spartans" and Jim Carrey making silly faces throughout the movie.

But we also know for a fact that there is some good singing on the part of Z. Deschanel with some pretty funny lyrics.

Haven't seen it yet, but it might be alright.

If you put aside the comedic legacy Jim Carrey left behind this is an awesome movie. I like to seeing a somewhat serious point in some of his movies. (mainly 23) I liked it alot, but thats just me.

I just went and saw it the other night. Suprisingly, it was decent. Some good laughs, but there were some places where he tried wayyyyyyyyyy to hard for the laughs and it's obvious. It's got whatsherface from Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy in it, so she kinda brings it down a little bit with her voice. I can't stand how monotonous she sounds

^ Zooey Deschanel. Pretty much plays the same character every time.

It was really good! Lots of humor that was different from Seth Rogan, which has been thrown around too much this year, and have that hotty Zooie in it!

I will see it, im not expecting much it looks like a fail. The truman show, the cable guy, ace ventura pet detective, those are his best films.

Honestly, the commercials reminded me alot of Liar, Liar. I'll admit I'm pretty naive about movies based on first impressions, but this one was pretty obvious.

I don't know how anyone over the age of 15 can like that movie. Him crawling out of a fake rhino's ass pretty much sums up the type of humor in that movie. I mean, I'm sure it's probably good a for a few dumb laughs, but thinking of it as a "good movie", or putting it up there with The Truman Show and The Cable Guy? Come on.

I saw it tonight and I was surprised that it just wasn't that bad, it's alright but not gut busting.

I used to love Jim Carrey back in the nineties. Now... it's just depressing. Eternal Sunshine was good, though.

Funny how that's his most depressing movie, but I know what you mean.

I hate how people rave about ESoaSM though. Adaptation, also by Charlie Kaufman, is sooo much a superior film.

It was ok...so long as you turn your brain off.

Starts off well, the humour is refreshing enough (which may well be because Rogan is everywhere now) and the story is fairly solid. It does fall flat at the end though and that is what annoyed me. Otherwise it's worth watching.

Don't think about it too much.

Remember when The Mask had a Cameron Diaz in her prime?

This one didn't even have a hot chick.

It was okay though, the bad jokes and Jim Carrey faces were obviously to market to more people like kids and soccer moms.

Anyways, the movie got better reviews than I expected. Not really my type of comedy, though. Too heavy on the "morals" and too light on the "lulz" in my opinion.

Zooey Deschanel is so ridiculously overhyped right now and I have no idea why. I don't even know what the fuck she's been in, I just woke up one morning and the entire internet had a hardon for her. Hm, "had a hardon for" doesn't work nearly as well when everyone is literally having a hardon for that thing.
Yeah Zooey is above average but I don't know why everyone's shitting themselves over her.
I'm glad I'm on totse, where I know that even if my post is shitty and pointless I don't have to worry because that's the norm.

That's the media for you. I don't know what else she has been in. I know I have seen her in something else though. She's fairly hot,, I think the fact she plays quirky characters helps.

She has that same weird kind of look that Katy Perry has - another internet infatuation that I don't get at ALL. Only difference is Zooey might have talent for all I know.

Are you joking? Her acting in that movie was useless, emotionless, garbage. The only good actor in that movie was the pest.

Also, whoever called one of jim carreys best movies Cable Guy, should be shot.
