While others may seem to get a high off it I see "getting high"
as a spiritual sacrament to God.
When you get high you see things from a different point of view and start thinking differently, and it just feels "right". I also tend to get more helpful intuitive thoughts that I would not normally get if I was not high. I also argue that you are open to more spiritual experiences and contact with spirits simply because your mind is much more open to the idea when you are "high"
The only catch is that you cannot smoke it all the time or else it loses it's spiritual power. If you do you are only trying to relive the original spiritual experience that you had(chasing the original high) and it will be nothing but a counter fit high of the original spiritual experience you had.
therefor you must fully come down and become sober before having another spiritual experience (getting high) and this usually takes a day. When I say sober I mean like not burnout, no after effects - just like how you felt in grade school when you never took drugs.
The other catch too is that you must be spiritually mature enough to handle marijuana to gain a positive spiritual experience. This explains why ethnic minorities rob steal and rape after they get high.
I have never smoked pot, but everything you said sounds about right to me.
Reminds me of this. http://http://www.freemarijuanachurch.org/

Well, the spiritual aspect you are talking about is that marijuana tends the brain to an 'alpha' state -- ironically the same state meditation and some types of prayer tend to.
This means that
1. If you meditate while you are high it'll "increase" the high
2. 'Spiritual maturity' as the way you describe it is completely arbitrary and tailored to fit your ego
3. Your (joke) about 'ethnic minorities' has nothing to do with the fact that they're high when they do such acts; they could just have likely had a glass of water before them and thus were not "aquatically mature" enough to handle the water in the proper fashion which would lead them to pillage and rape
Good trolling, btw.

That is racist bullshit, and factually incorrect.
Speaking as someone who first smoked dope (actually, black Afghani hash) in 1967, and started dropping really good acid the same year, I say getting loaded is getting loaded. There are no vaild short-cuts to spirituality (okay, with the possible exception of mesacaline--but then, only if one is spiritually-minded to start with). It takes work.

What about Salvia?
I found it much more deep, brutal and mind-changing than any other drug I've tried.
I dunno, but they say the ayahuasca is the deepest next to soma.
I'll let you know next weekend maybe ;)
And rape robbing and stealing have nothing to do with race. It doesn't only occur with ethnic minorities. It more often occurs as a reaction to people who have had negative experiences or "bad karmic traces" which drove them to that point. Even saying this is incorrect, because a king may feel he is in such great power, he can rape or kill. A pauper might feel so sexually repressed and poor that he might rape and steal.... There are lots of things that can drive a mind to that point, race has nothing to do with it.
I think if you see a certain race displaying those traits in THIS country, at THIS time, maybe you should look at the history of that race, and see that everything has a cause. White people are not more spiritually mature enough to handle the effects of pot because they haven't been treated as minorities. I know a shitload of white people who would laugh and roll their eyes if you mention out of body experiences and spirituality.... Trust me very few people are able to look at things with full awareness and few mental hindrances at all times. It takes a real desire for truth, and it's definitely not limited to a race. If it were (which it's not) I would say the Indians are the most mature and zenned out bunch on the world I've heard about yet.
And getting high does NOT promote those things further, if anything it lessens the desire to rape and rob, and more like make some love and be grateful for what you have. I find violence to be very far from marijuana's effects.... Alcohol on the other hand I wouldn't say the same thing.... I think it's a truly backwards government when marijuana, acid and mushrooms are illegal, and alcohol is legal. Very backwards indeed and in need of change.

I think it also heightens your level of awareness. Maybe that is why it is illegal?

What, coz in that heightened level of awareness you see through all the bullshit we have to put up with regarding the government, social norms, unspoken rules, etc, etc, and feel the need to rebel against them.
Which is why many weed smokers are also freedom preaching hippies.
Makes ya wonder.

Whenever I get stoned, I'm able to see the space between things and that holds things together much easier. It's a very insightful and beautiful time. So, to me, marijuana is more spiritual then fun, although it is very fun especially with the right friends ;)

Whenever I get high, I sit down for hours blowing smoke rings in front of a fluorescent office lamp eating
vegemite on toast. :D
I think ArmsMerchant has it right. I don't think it's right to say cannabis is a surefire way to induce a state of spirituality. The deepest meditative trance i've ever been in was when I hadn't eaten for a day and a half, hadn't slept for two and I was sitting in my backyard in front of a roaring fire. It was beautiful.

"Spirituality" is one of those words that doesn't mean anything, but can mean everything. Kind of like the word "God". The word can have any meaning you want, hence it is never wrong. More than half of the discussions or arguments on God or spirituality make no sense at all because the parties involved in the dialogue have completely different definition on those words. Human language and semantics cannot explain God or spirituality.
Our brain can only process the input form our senses. Hearing, smelling, tasting, touching and seeing. The image that we form inside of our head is ours and ours alone. It is impossible to share it with another mind. Even by writing, painting, speaking, the image that the other persons sees can be something completely different.
Drugs can alter these images for us. They just flip a variable in a big ass equation. If you want to call that spirituality, that's for you to decide.
