Just recently the Run command, the shut down menu have DISAPPEARED from my start menu, so to shut down I have to click on the Log Out button and shut down from there. That's not all there is either. My task manager has stopped working, well I'm sure it would work it weren't for that goddamned "Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator".

It would sound believable if I weren't the administrator myself.

So if a program decides to freeze up on me, I have to live with it or shut down. I'm sure this is a nightmare for my RAM.

Some even worse stuff happened later. I leave my computer on most the time but now this svchost.exe error appears and usually some other .exes go down with it, like this drwatson.exe. When they go down, this Microsoft error box appears saying it had an error and will shut down when the countdown reaches error.

With all these errors I decide to get a virus check but nothing appears so I'm not sure what the issue is but any help to let me use old tskmnger again would be wonderful.

I used the spyware app and got rid of a lot of bad shit on my pc. The problem still persists though, I can't use any of those other links since the Run command is still gone from the Start Menu. Not even windows+R will do the trick.

I recommend you download Zonealarm firewall (http://www.download.com/ZoneAlarm-Firewall-Windows-2000-XP-/3000-10435_4-10039884.html) (Free). This'll keep any infection from spreading and downloading additional components. Chances are you'll also get a filename that you can then google and find the solution for.

After you do this, uninstall any antivirus software on your PC and install Avast! Antivirus (http://www.download.com/Avast-Home-Edition/3000-2239_4-10019223.html) (Free).

Also a possibility though, is that the virus is gone, leaving the modified settings as default. You can try enabling them through the control panel (or is it folder options?). If you'd prefer you can download software such as Windows XP Manager (http://www.download.com/WinXP-Manager/3000-2086_4-10226922.html) (15 day trial) which will allow you to reconfigure your PC through a simple, easy to use GUI.
