Hi guys,

my dvd writer gave up the ghost on my acer laptop...i "scored" another
sony DVD model DW-D56A which i put into it...

now when i boot up my laptop it says "operating system not found"
despite the ide-0 being primary boot...
also...
when i press f12 for boot menu it says boot ----- and its blank
and press enter to enter menu (bios)

is it just not compatible...
any ideas how i can get it working with my system???

Ide0 is primary boot, are you sure that its the Hard drive, and not the new DVD/RW? and there are no other boot options?

but where do you configure primary / master on 2.5 " laptop hdd or dvd rom?

Maybe this will help with Acer alternate reality setup configuration enigma. I dunno tho.
