I tried really hard to like the movie, but I just couldn't do it. It had some pretty good scenes in it, but overall it was just blargh. Visually it was great, but the acting...oh god...the fucking acting.

Episodes 1-3 had a lot of bad dialogue and some cheesy, lame, and stupid moments but it made up for that with awesome lightsaber duels and battle scenes. The Clone Wars couldn't even do that. Even the lightsaber fights in this one were a big let down.

I'm also trying very very hard to like the series, but meh. The first episode was awesome, but I think that was mainly because it focused on Yoda. I almost quit watching entirely when they brought back Jar Jar, but the last couple of episodes have actually been pretty damn good. I actually enjoyed every minute of them.

Maybe the creators (I guess Lucas isn't involved in this one?) are starting to get the hang of this Star Wars thing or maybe it's going to be like episodes 1, 2, and 3 with equal parts awesomeness and suckage.

Anybody else been watching this one or am I the only one here that enjoys torturing himself?

I've never watched the tv show. I watched the movie without high expectations. Pretty shitty.

Animation was robotic. Character models looked like they were built out of legos. Pathetic plot. Nothing of consequence happens.

Just a really boring kids movie.

I have no fucking idea how they managed to work shitty acting into an animated movie, but they did.

Yup. Robotic is how I would describe the character movements. It didn't seem that bad until you get to the lightsaber battles and then it was painful to watch.

They have at least fixed that, along with the crappy voice acting, for the series.

Like I said, the movie had it's fun moments, but they were few and far between.

I guess I was hoping that it would be as awesome as the original Clone Wars cartoons that aired on cartoon network. Those were great, but I think it's because of the style they used in the animation and storytelling.

It was produced by the same guy that did Samurai Jack and a lot of that style shows in Clone Wars.

I never liked any of the Star Wars cartoon adaptations, in my opinion they should have just made a film with lego-style animations, that would have been quite interesting.

An anime Star Wars film, if well produced, I'm thinking something on the line of the Animatrix would also be a great idea, maybe if divided in a few short episodes.
