well basically I got a stupid photo red light ticket because a guy making a left opposite me pulled in front of me when I could have made the yellow light. I missed the light by .3 seconds and was at a speed of 23 MPH (I had begun slamming on the brakes just before entering the crosswalk, which is when the picture was taken) . How could I prove that if I were able to maintain speed of just under 35 MPH I would have made the light? I only needed to go another 5 or so feet to legally beat the yellow light and be in the intersection.

Let me know if there's any other data I need to provide or if it doesn't make any sense. Admittedly I am not very sharp with math (though I did ace AP Stats in high school.. heh)

Thanks.

Naa, honestly you're probably screwed if you go that route via math and some such. No one likes that, and I doubt the judge will believe your math anyway. BTW, running a yellow light is just as illegal as running a red light.

You can still make the argument, but I'd emphasise the other driver's fault, and maybe some confusion cause of him.

Basically subjective terms instead of objective, and emphasize your concern over safety.

thanks. yeah, that's what I was thinking. I did heavily emphasize that I had a clear duty to stop to avoid an accident, and that abruptly braking for the yellow light would have seemed just as dangerous in the crazy hollywood traffic. I thought a little numbers may help just to show that it was possible for me to make the light, also in the picture it looks like the other driver is flipping me off (but it may be a cig, and obviously its irrelevant so i'm not going to write about that). Oh, I'm doing a written declaration of innocence by the way so it wouldn't be like I was verbally throwing all these numbers at the judge.

if you're from hollywood, why are you repping humboldt county?
