I hate people who cheat on exams, especially in classes that are curved.

I headed into my differential equations final today. It's an upper division math course that has a use in real world applications. Anyway, I got pwnt. Now, I normally wouldn't be worried, because of the curve. However, I find out everyone is cheating with their Ti-89 Titanium calculators. I find that most of these people have every worked out homework problem ever given in the class in those things. About 3 in every 4 people are using them for cheating in that class. I'm probably going to fail now, since most of our grade is based on the final.

This test was exceptionally challenging, and I have a feeling everyone cheated their way through it just fine.

And subsequently failed. Dude, school these days is all about shit like this. By and large, kids don't care whether they know it or not and neither do the teachers. It is far better to know how to actually do it however if you are going to fail you should probably get the calculator.

I wouldn't snitch anyone out. There isn't a way to prove it either. I just wish he banned calculators, he's old and I don't think he knows about the capability of some of them.

The Ti-89 can't. I'm sure AP2K's calculator might be able to, since it has an SD card.

In my anatomy class, there was a test coming up on the appendicular skeleton involved a hell of a lot of memorizing in about a week and a half (memorizing most the major bones and their features well enough to call them from memory given a picture). Because she sat opposite wall to the teacher, the chick next me cheated and distributed answers to the people around her (I declined). The class isn't curved, and because I'm in high school, most of the kids in there just need a science credit and, for good reason, don't care about ever learning appendicular bones, so I was fine with it. High school education is a joke.

I personally didn't give a shit about who was cheating, although because of the curve, I can definitely see why you're pissed. Just cheat and learn the material is my suggestion, if you're looking for one.

I think th eonly thing good aobut my HP is the SD slot. The TI is better at pretty much everything else except reverse Polish notation, which is very useful.

I think your parents might be pissed at first, but they need to learn to respect your decision. You're doing whats best for you, and maybe eventually you'll have the motivation to go back. A lot of people get burned out and come back later, it's part of life.

I mean, we've gone through straight schooling for almost 20 years, it's a long time to not have a break, naa meen? But about the rifles, it's a good idea to buy now. Obama is probably going to be a Nazi, and not the good kind. I bought an AR-15 with a short barrel and a collapsible stock a couple months back. My dad also picked up a couple of AR-15's and a few AK's in Texas. That's cool you're going for an AR-180, those are bad ass.

Anyway, don't get too caught up in the drinking. Not to tell you what to do or anything. But with the USDA, that's pretty cool even as part time. You'll have a lot of opportunities to move up, and they might even fund your education later on if you decide to go back.

15 years of schooling and I've never used a calculator, or any other kind of device except my brain to get the answers. Always scored over 90%, simply because I studied the material thoroughly until I was very comfortable with it, and I wouldn't give up until I was comfortable with it. The other classmates may have used a mini-computer to get the answers, but that still does not excuse you if you fail. If you fail, it means you did not know your stuff, and so you deserve to fail in that case, regardless of who did what. Those clueless losers who passed the test by asking a computer the answers will go on to become common failures, adding to this dying world's problems, but if you can pass the test based entirely off your own intelligence, you can be more confident in your own future success. It has less to do with "them" than it has to do with you.

I thoughts about 20 years as well. It really is a long time to have only a couple months off at a single time. I really don't think Obama himself is going to be a Nazi about guns. After the AR-180 I want one of the original Colt 1911A1's. It's hard to imagine them being almost a century old and yet the design is so modern.
