Ok, this is a little lengthy and difficult, but I'm willing to put in the work, so just let me know if the program exists or how to mod it.
I love the winamp visualizations. They kick ass, nothing better when it comes to watching your music on drugs. And I also like to play my own music, so ideally I'd like to have the visualization play in real time responding to my music.
The music would be connected into my PC, probably via Line-In.
Is there a feature already in winamp for this, or an addon, and if not what would be the easiest way to go about doing this?
I'm thinking it's a complex algorithm that makes the visuals dance to the music, so I would be best to not try and bypass winamp to get to the MilkDrop, but somehow tricking my computer into thinking winamp is playing the input from my guitar.
Maybe there's simply a plugin to let me do just this. Run a live feed on winamp from an input. If there isn't, has anyone coded a winamp plug-in, what am I looking at? Is that even the easiest way to go about doing it?
Thanks for helping me, I hope to put on many crazy concerts in the future.
EDIT:
MilkDrop can also be driven by a live audio feed (microphone or line-in) - see the documentation for details.
This I can't wait to try. Will let you know if I need help tomorrow.
