View Full Version : Mod Edit: Microsoft Update installed IDT, conflicts with sound card

I woke up this afternoon to find out that a new audio program has been installed, and is now sitting comfortably on my tool bar. My dad explained that Microsoft(I assume) installed it by itself when it updated windows.

Fine, that's cool. Free stuff? But it's conflicting with my sound card, and I don't know how to explain it any better than that.

I have an Xfidelity(?) sound card, which comes with an audio panel of it's own. And it's super.

But the kicker is, I can't uninstall this new program, which goes by the name of IDT.

Has anyone heard of this program/know how to kill it/fix me?

Or google IDT and it actually is an Vista Upgrade that causes a conflict. Go figure, huh.

I'm running XP -- Should I even have this program installed?

You should have a useful thread title.

System restore back a few days and refuse the update when it comes again.

I'm not much of a linguistic, I fear. If I try for anything more complex than a statement, I'm liable to have a seizure.

You wouldn't want that, would you?

EDIT: also, I fragment a lot.

That's fine, just make a title that says something.
