well it's a pretty nifty team based shooter where you defend from endless hordes of zombies. there is a big focus on team play so you have to rescue teammates, support, and keep together and all that. here's some reading material on it. http://www.totse.com/community/search.php?searchid=342508 also, play the pc version :P not sure if Resident Evil is on Xbox360, but it's a good series.

Dead Rising is fun, but suffers from a horrible save system. But it's totally worth the $10-20 you should pay for it.

what about another suggestion it doesn't need to be a zombie game though.

Dead Rising is awesome. Still my 2nd favorite 360 game (right under Gears of War). It's zombie game with the style of a black comedy such as Dead Alive. You know, heartfelt situations with a sick sense of humor added in (like a guy crying and getting his head sniped off, only to have the main characters get splattered in brain and look down at their shirts in a "goddamn it" moment).
A lot of people will complain about the saving, but it's supposed to be that way because 99% of zombie movies have that safe haven room where you're afraid to venture out and that's what Dead Rising does as well. You run around half dead saying "oh shit,I have to get back to the safe room!" just like they do in zombie flicks.

L4D is my game of the year on PC.
The 360 version suffers from ugly graphics and slowdown, but it's gameplay should still be great if you're willing to cut it some slack.

Dead Rising is a great game. The amount of zombies on screen is impressive. The graphics are great, especially considering all of the items and characters on the screen. The variety in weapons. The unlockables...the game is just awesome. I love how there is an actual reason to go for the hard achievements, and how there are like 4 different endings depending on how you play.
Its just a fantastic game that a lot of people didn't like because of the save system. Personally, I never felt there was a lack of save spots or that there needed to be anymore. Once you learn the layout of the mall, you know where the save spots are, and usually they're not far from the hard boss fights. I felt that the save system actually added some challenge to the game as well. Quicksaving has always been a fault for games IMO, because I end up saving every three steps and it kind of takes the fun away.
Speaking of saves, and this might be going off on a tanget, but I think the GTA series starting with 3 has the best dying/saving system. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the game over screen, but sometimes it can add challenge (Dead Rising, Mario). I like in GTA that you respawn at a hospital or cop station, and you can keep playing without having to reload. Sure, you lose some money or guns, but its not the end of the world. I really hate having to reload my game every time I die. It breaks the flow.

ah thank you. i guess you can say i enjoy graphics, but i like game play much more. i love GTA always have. i have really enjoyed the Halo games. [just to give you a view on what i like] but for the psp i really loved God of War and i am usually not a fan of Final Fantasy at all but i liked Crisis Core somewhat.
but i would have to say, although it isn't the best game to many, i have always liked the prince of persia games.
just to give you guys a taste of what games you think would interest me

I played L4D on the 360, and I saw how awesome it was. Then I played it on the PC and it was 100x better. Not just graphically. My computer can't play anything too extreme, but L4D looks way better than it's xbox counterpart.
Not only that, but we've already got mods and maps in the works. I guess someone decided to completely remake the Dawn of the Dead movie set, in INCREDIBLE detail.

Dead Rising-First game I bought with my 360. Best game I played in a long ass time too. The Achievements, storyline, and gameplay are all amazing. The save system is perfect in this game, though I wish it was like the old Resident Evil save system (you have to have an ink roll in your personal inventory) to save. That aside, the sheer amount of brutality that can be had with that game is ridiculous, you can actually run zombies over a'la Dead Alive (or Brain Dead, depending on what region your from) with a fucking lawn mower.
L4D-Only played the demo, and the game looks sick as fuck. I went through it on Live and nearly shit my pants when my party members were all simultaniously attacked by Tanks (big dumb zombie that i fucking hate!!!)
But the best zombie game ever is Zombies ate my neighbors for Sega Genesis. That was some sick shit.

ah. thank you. i went and played Dead Rising, but just a demo, and it was pretty fun. once i start to play anything that sparks my interest i get sucked. and i also played L4d a demo, and i loved it. so i think just to balance things out i will get both. i thought the graphics were fine. but i am not too picky i just play for the enjoyment and all that jazz.
any more recommendations?? doesn't have to be a zombie game.
p.s. i have a WII, X-Box 360, PS2, PSP, Nintendo DS, Gamecube, and the old Nintendo 64
suggestions.

Because the gameplay is extremely addicting and never gets old. Very innovative sandbox type game. You never know whats going to happen in your next mission. All the missions are different and leave you wanting more after every innovative mission.

Thank you for confirming my suspicion that people throw around the term "sandbox game" without it having any actual fucking meaning. Either that, or it does have some meaning, and one or both of us doesn't know what it means.
I started seeing it a lot after GTA3 hit, and applied to the GTA series, but even they don't really seem like you have that much control over the environment. If any games are "sandbox" games, it's got to be stuff like Simcity or Civ. Or maybe LBP, which to me is less of a sandbox game and more of a digital fucking sandbox.
But to apply it to L4D? A game with no real control over the environment, just running and gunning? I love L4D, but is it a sandbox game? What the fuck is a sandbox game? I guarantee that if you look around, you'll see the term applied to all sorts of disparate shit as a desperate attempt to sell their game.

Is the 360 version bad? I don't own a PC capable of playing any games post 1999.

I enjoy the shit out of the 360 version, with one caveat - that you have friends on XBL who have the game that you can play with. I haven't tried matchmaking, but this game is fuck as all get out with three other friends. The action is frantic and always varied, so far it's been a blast pretty much every time I've played. If you have friends on live, I honestly can't recommend it to all of you enough.

Who applied it to L4D? alexander was talking about Assassin's Creed, which is definitely a sandbox game.
A sandbox game is just any game with a large open world that you can go anywhere in and do what you want. Just ride around, explore, kill civilians, fuck with the law, or do the actual missions.
GTA, Assassin's Creed, Saint's Row, Crackdown, games like that.

Got it for the Xbox and it is fucking amazing...
I wish Steam and XBL would team up and allow some free mods to be on the XBL. Alas that will never happen because Micro$oft belongs to the shareholders and not the customers
