I'd have to go with Po' Boy sandwiches. Obviously it's not a complicated meal, but it tastes so, sooooo fucking good.

In addition to the meat (catfish, flounder, or chicken are your best bets), you need a baguette, lettuce, dill pickles, some tomatoes, tartar sauce, and hot sauce. I mix some chili sauce with the tartar sauce too. (The basis for the sandwich was that poor Southerners put whatever they could find in it, so...I'm sure there are tons of variations. I think that the sauce and the baguette are probably what distinguishes it from other sandwiches).

How about you?

A variety of pasta sauces(tomato, meat, various cream sauces, etc...).

Makes cheap, easy meals not so boring.

My favorite thing to make is definitely this pineapple pork stir fry I do. Very Hawaiian like in taste.

I like doing some mac and cheese bake. Done right it is just amazing. Or a nice mashed potatoes bake with a lot of cheese.

I'd have to say Hummus. It's not the most complicated thing to make (Garbonzo beans, Tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, cumin. Blend til smooth), but I LOVE the stuff with some warm pita or English cucumbers (cut on a bias).

I'm actually really good in making Mexican and Asian food, I've had natives from both areas enthusiastically eating stuff that I prepared, I guess my best dish is probably chili con carne, although I can make some very nice seafood stir fries as well.

As far as easy meals are concerned I guess quesadillas with chicken or turkey or lamb burgers served with fried cheese, olives and youghourt with mint and cucumber.

Sauces, dips, how to use herbs and seasonings, and how to tell when meat is cooked.

Lamb rump marinated in raspberry vinegar(it tastes sweet and raspberrily* at the same time) and brown sugar. It's good shit. The brown sugar and vinegar sort of caramelizes together and create a thick sauce for it.

Slice it open on the underside in the center (as in the side which will be facing the plate when you serve it).

steak.

seriously. it's really hard to make a good steak.

No it's not.

Hot grill/pan. Only flip once. Don't overseason.

Really simple process.

The problem is that people try to make things too complicated. They flip it too many times, or they're trying to cook it on too cool a surface, or they adding to much seasoning which is overpowering the meat when it is done.

^ Agreed. Compared to some other cuts steak is quite easy in my opinion.

Bump.

In addition to Po Boy, I also found a Beef Stroganov recipe that is ridiculously good. It's on Cooks' Illustrated. The sauce is about 1/2 cup chicken broth, 1/2 cup white wine, 1/3 cup sour cream (I usually put a bit extra), and a teaspoon of tomato sauce for good measure. There's also mushrooms, beef, and onions which add to the flavor, of course.

Definitely asparagus soufflé.

Naturally, you'd think such a pastry would be at best bland and unappealing, but the way my grandmother has taught me to prepare it, with a generous helping of spices like ginger and cumin, it's on par with a chocolate cake. Absolutely mouthwatering.

Also, I can mean some mean kibbeh. It's basically just ground meat with bulghur wheat, but it's very fun to toy around with spices when making this dish. I like to add dashes of cumin, and hand-picked rosemary. If there are any, I like to add pine nuts as well.

Although I usually just make servings of kibbeh for myself, friends, or an informal family meal, I have on occasion cooked rather formal meals. In those cases, I like to garnish each plate with a decent sprig of rosemary, since every mint shrub that's been planted has wilted. Also, the kibbeh is always served with homemade hummus and slightly toasted pita bread.

Oh boy, sounds good..

best thing i have learned to make is bread. baking bread is so fucking rewarding. first of all your whole house smells like pure win. second all your samiches taste so much better. an third baking bread is a very satisfying procedure, almost like raising a kid. from the re awakening of the yeast to the slicing of the steaming crust. here is a recipe i use.

3 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
2 (.25 ounce) packages active dry yeast
1/3 cup honey
5 cups bread flour
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1/3 cup honey
3 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons butter, melted

1. In a large bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and 1/3 cup honey. Add 5 cups white bread flour, and stir to combine. Let set for 30 minutes, or until big and bubbly.
2. Mix in 3 tablespoons melted butter, 1/3 cup honey, and salt. Stir in 2 cups whole wheat flour. Flour a flat surface and knead with whole wheat flour until not real sticky - just pulling away from the counter, but still sticky to touch. This may take an additional 2 to 4 cups of whole wheat flour. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to coat the surface of the dough. Cover with a dishtowel. Let rise in a warm place until doubled.
3. Punch down, and divide into 3 loaves. Place in greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pans, and allow to rise until dough has topped the pans by one inch.
4. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 25 to 30 minutes; do not overbake. Lightly brush the tops of loaves with 2 tablespoons melted butter or margarine when done to prevent crust from getting hard. Cool completely

i hope you all enjoy

Healthwise, I'd say salsa. I love salsa, and I probably wouldn't get my quota of vegetables without it.
