I never really got the traditional "loop, swoop, pull," method and so I always made two "bunny ears," knotted them twice, and that was the end of it. Still can't do the "loop, swoop, pull," thing.

What about you?

I just put a knot in the lace after the hole so my shoes are tight enough not to fall off, and then put the lace under my foot.

(Btw, I can tie shoe laces, I just don't like the look of it.)

I'm also one with the bunny ears. though generally after getting them at a comfortable fit, i tie them once and just slip them on.

Fuck tieing your shoes unless you're wearing smart shoes. I just tie my trainers in knots and stand on the laces.
On a sidenote, how cool are windsor knots on ties?

Slide them on. Adjust buckle to appropriate tightness.

Loosen em up so there's a couple inches of lace sticking out the top holes. Tie that in a square knot. Been doing that forever. I slip my shoes on and off -- like slippers. :)

Fucking baller. That's actually the only way I know how to tie a tie. A little more complicated than the other knots, but that's the way my dad taught me.

I don't know if this has been posted before, but I just got a new pair of shoes today and I tried several ways of lacing them up to maximize comfort and style... and I settled on straight-lace or "bar" lacing my shoes.

I picked this style due to its simplicity, the fact that my shoelaces are a bit short and this method gives you extra lace to work with, and it gives you a cleaner look on your shoes.

To do this, you feed both ends of the lace through the bottom pair of eyelets from the outside, then on the left side you go up two eyelets on the inside of the shoe, push it through, and then go straight across and push it through the outside to the inside of the shoe on the opposite side. Now on the right side, go up one eyelet from the bottom and push it from inside to outside, go straight across to the eyelet you skipped on the other side, then go up two eyelets and push it through.

Repeat this until you're at the top, at the top two eyelets, the laces have to go from inside the shoe to the outside, so you can properly tie your shoe., the left lace should end up coming out the left top eyelet, and the right lace should come out the top right eyelet.

EDIT: Before anyone tries to flame me, I was just trying to be helpful with this! I was too lazy to search, and I figured a good easy to understand tutorial wouldn't hurt!

Nah, It makes the knot triangular.
