Is my computer completely safe?

So long as you don't restore it from quarantine, or run it from the quarantine location (possible with some antivirus software, but unlikely).

Your computer is never safe if you run Windows. Installing GNU/Linux (http:/gnewsense.org) will increase your safety by a factor of no less than 300%.

So make their accounts use KDE, rename the shortcuts for Firefox and Evolution to say Internet Explorer and Outlook Express, and they won't know the difference. Except for the greatness of GNU/Linux, but you can tell them that once they say "wow, the computer's been so fast lately!" or something.

If they do notice a difference, just tell them "Updated to the next service pack".

Prometheum likes to shamelessly promote 'GNU/Linux' like it's goin out of style. Don't worry bout it.

Haha, if you knew how much I've wanted to try this...

Never had an opportunity though. I'd like to try it at school.

Although the people there are rather ignorant...

I change the theme on WinXP once and 5 people crowded around me asking me 'Omg is that Linux?' and 'Dude are you haxing?'.

Sadly, I'm not joking. And two of them actually said that, word for word.

Oh, I'm familiar with the type. Every damn time I open a shell...

It's really, really sad how that doesn't surprise me at all..
