Hi all. I'm looking for a way to add a second menu to the taskbar, into which I can place my own links.

In case you're wondering why, I don't like minimising everything to get to a shortcut on my desktop. I've got all my frequently used programs in the top of the Start Menu and folder shortcuts in a side bar.

Bad things about this are that Windows likes to reshuffle the order of the icons in the bar, and when it pops out it annoys the hell out of me.

I'd therefore like to have a second menu on the taskbar where I can put the folder links instead.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

Assuming your on xp like me, r-click a blank area in the taskbar and go to toolbars. You can have your desktop or any other directory of your choosing show up as a menu on your taskbar like this. (http://img291.imageshack.us/my.php?image=desktop1am9.jpg)

yup, here's my toolbar:

(click to make larger)

from left to right, i have the start menu, then programs i often use, the open programs, my desktop which opens like the picture posted by the poster above me, and then shortcuts to folders i access daily.

to get the desktop menu, right click on the toolbar, go to toolbar, and then put a check next to Desktop. if thats not there, or you want to add another, go to new toolbar.
