Anyone else here like to play with knife-only is games that have knives?

My first experience with going knife-only was in the original Far Cry... I would constantly be #1 on the score board, using just a knife. It was actually easier to stab people in that game than to shoot them.

Now in CoD4, I was playing on Broadcast, on FFA, and I remapped my mouse's left click button to be knife instead of gun, put dead-silence on and juggernaut (so I can take more than one bullet).

I had people amazed on that server at how well I was doing with the knife alone... my final score on a 1-hour long map was 132 kills to 89 deaths... 0 bullets fired, 0 airstrikes callled on (I put them off-map), and I never called in my helicopters. That was purely skill. By the end of that round, I had something like 8 or 9 clan-recruit offers, because they wanted me to teach them how to knife like I do.



Anyone else just LOVE knives in video games? Anyone else, like me, that does even better without a gun?

See you act like a crazed drunken knife-wielding lunatic... I'm more methodical in my knifing, using sound, cover, speed, and stealth to my advantage... and the CoD4 engine is really well geared for stealth action if you utilize it right. 99% of the people I knife never see or hear me coming.

As for the "running out and knifing people shooting at me" thing, sounds like a shit idea. Run in to anyone who can shoot worth a shit and you're dead.

I never said it was the latest and greatest method ever.

I don't camp either, BTW... I'm constantly moving, which is why I'm so succesful with the knife. I have a knack for moving through the map fluid like... I just aquire them through sound first, or sometimes by sight, and the I plan out their movements and then shank 'em in the ribcage and then disappear. Knifing one of two people isn't a big deal, but to be in the top 3 on the server constantly is pretty good considering that so many people can't even do that with guns, grenades, airstrikes, and heli's....


I've yet to meet a rival that was even remotely as smooth with the knife as I am...

My favorite is when two people are in a close-quarter shoot-out, I gank one, duck under the fire and get on the side of the of ther guy while my knife resets and then gank him too... two-kills in one fluid motion.

The only bad thing about knife only is that sometimes you're not the only one with that guy in your sights, and you're in close proximity of him so if someone starts shooting, they basically get two kills for the price of one...

pfft. fuck knives. aside from unavoidable moments, I could probably beat every MGS entirely unarmed, on any difficulty with no alerts. neck breaking and sleeper holds are your friend. hardcore.

beat RE4 on proffesional with only a knife and I'll be impressed. I read somewhere that it's possible to beat it using only like, 2 bullets. and I've seen videos of people taking on Regenorators with knives, on pro mode. fuck that shit.

did anyone ever try to play through goldeneye on the n64 with just slapping? slappers only now THAT was a challenge.

For CoD 4, try this gametype:

-Shipment
-no Radar
-Old School made on (jump higher)
-only knives (no nades)
-can only attack from the boxes. But you can jump off and attack midair.

It's suprisingly fun. Or just play knives only.

I used to play counter strike with only knife. It was fun as hell. Especially when whiney bitches like pr deltoit start nagging at you for not taking the game seriously.

I find it funny how people on CoD4 HC servers think you're cheating when you have juggernaut on and you repeatedly gank them with the knife... I've been banned from 4 servers so far for "health hacks"...

Pistols only is fun too.

I do about as good with a pistol as I do a sniper rifle... I can head-shot you across the map in overgrown with a deagle... fuck, I could do it with an M9...


I think Broadcast is by far and large the best map setup for a knife-only match... has both indoor and outdoor areas, both of which are set up very nicely, lots of corners, lots of plants, boxes, twists, turns, etc... my favorite knifing area where I can just go crazy in is the computer room, staying low and tracking people's movements, i can just flank them, stab them, disappear before their martyr shit goes off, and then set up for the next guy.

I did this. I beat RE4 too many times to count. I had the handcannon, infinite rl, and chigaco typewriter. The rest of my inventory was golden chicken eggs. That game was my bitch.
