Anyone ever been there or served there? Whats the base like? Any reccomendations / things you wish you knew beforehand before going over there?

Bagram is one of the best places you can end up in Afghanistan. Great dining facility.

Going over under orders from the Navy. We call it going IA. According to my orders, thats where I'm headed.

Not a bad place to end up in Afghanistan. Not a bad place at all... They have weekend dances over there, the chow hall serves different food everynight (like Mexican Mondays, Italian Tuesdays, that kind of thing) If you get lucky, you'll end up in quarters that we hooked up wireless network in when we were there last. Cable in the rooms too.
