There are some Pink Floyd albums that reach such an immeasurable and profound depth (Animals, Dark Side, Wish You Were Here) it's almost unbelievable.

Can anyone recommend progressive rock they believe has matched or at least scratched these depths?

You son of a bitch, you've opened Pandora's Box.

Asterisks denote recommended albums of an artist.

Riverside - Out of Myself*
Riverside - Second Life Syndrome
Riverside - Rapid Eye Movement
Porcupine Tree - The Sky Moves Sideways*
Porcupine Tree - Voyage 34*
Porcupine Tree - Signify
(I recommend you get everything by this band, but these are the only ones that are heavily Floydian)
Anekdoten's stuff (I have only heard a couple songs, but they all had a vibe of Floyd-but-heavier)
Eloy - Oceans*** (like if Pink Floyd was German; their other stuff is pretty great, too)

This list should hold you for a bit. I recommend checking out ProgArchives for more space rock bands. I'm unfortunately not very well versed in that particular prog subgenre.

Thanks for the progarchives suggestion, looks like they'll give me my fix.

Also, getting Oceans, Votage 34, and Out of Myself now, i'll let you know how i like them.

Yes has a somewhat similar feeling, but it is still different.

I don't see anything very Pink Floyd about Rush and Yes. I mean, both are amazing bands, among my favorites and some of the best of prog period, but I don't see a heavy Floyd relation.

i can dig both the syd barrett era and and the post syd barrett era with albums like The Wall, Wish you Were here, Dark Side of The Moon, etc...

I like the psychedelic music they produced in the 60's.
But also like the more indepth philosophical music later on.

Definately check out Porcupine Tree.

Post syd barrett pink floyd sucks, especially albums like darkside.

Are you fucking retarded? Syd made shitty psychedelic pop songs about nothing. Piper at the Gates of Dawn is one of the worst Pink Floyd albums, and I'm glad they kicked him out before he ruined the band forever. A Saucerful of Secrets was miles beyond that piece of crap.

This is the worst thing I have ever heard you say. You normally don't say these things.

If your into prog rock you should check out these bands:
gong
camel
gentle giant
caravan
wigwam

You should just research the Canterbury scene. most of the best prog came from Canterbury.

Why not?

The Moody Blues
Queensryche
Fleetwood Mac
The Doors, though they play a bit faster than Floyd
Queen had numerous ballad-esque songs that can be comparable to Floyd
