So I'm sick of my job, and it's not going anywhere, and I need to get into law school, but I also need a change of scenery. What I'm thinking of doing is heading back to Europe, or possibly some other continent, for about three months. This would be either before I take the LSAT, or after I take the LSAT but before I actually start law school.

It's almost Christmas, so I think I can count on getting a pretty fat roll of money, all told. If I scrimp and save over my next few paychecks, I can add to that. I could probably sell some things. If all else fails I can bum around to parents and relatives for a little more, but the idea is this - Three thousand dollars for three months in Europe might be pretty ballin (railpass not included).

I studied abroad in Europe in '06, and it was great, but I didn't get to go everywhere I wanted to. I still have friends over there and places I'd like to return to, shit I'd like to see and do again....and I could. It's totally feasible.

Right now I'm working in retail and it's strangling the fucking life out of me. It's just hit me that I could actually do this. I think I really need to.

Go for it. Why wouldn't you?
A grand a month is plenty from an excellent budget Europe adventure. Be an excellent prequel to Law school too.

This is definitely F☺rd approved.

Depending on what the dollar does, that'll be € 2000 to € 2800. Should be plenty to live for three months. Hell, take a zero away and you could still do it, but then it would require you to sleep under the stars every night or get a lot of one night stands. You have plenty of money, just don't think you can live in the hilton for three months. Also, I assume airline tickets arn't included in that $ 3000? It would still be doable, but you would have to be a lot more creative. Cook yourself a lot etc. Eating out can get pretty expensive here, especially in big cities.

In my gap year I went for about £1000 a month minus travel costs which was around 4000-4500 euros at the time but you should be ok. There's always the opportunity of doing some work to supplement your travels while your out there, working at youth hostels or bar work is pretty easy to come by. Have fun!
