View Full Version : Need help Year 11 and 12 Certificate (Aus)
Long story short, left school after year 10 in 2005, now just turned 20 and have to move to tasmania ( i'm on Centrelink after losing my job ), anyone know where do I get started to find how I can do my Year 11 & 12 at Tafe or a College or something? I've googled the crap out of it and found nothing of use. Sorry if this post seems rushed, any help would be awesome. Thanks

this information is from the NSW tafe site, but im sure it applies for tasmania as well

To enrol in the TAFE HSC, you must have the NSW School Certificate or the TAFE Certificate in General and Vocational Education or an equivalent qualification.
You will need to contact the campus of your choice to find out about information sessions. During these sessions you will need to complete an application form and, in some cases, you may be required to attend an interview as part of the selection process.
im sure that all tafe campuses will have senior grade highschool classes. just rock up, or just call them or something
edit: you may or may not know this, but what youre looking for is called the tasmanian education certificate, i think

If you want to do your HSC you need to go back to NSW - education isnt federal, its state.
Find out what the TAS certficate is called, call a high school and ask them - you may possibly be able to enrol (i know its lame as hell going back as a 20 y/o but then again high school was fun) if not surely they can tell you where you can head.
You goto a university/tafe to complete vce/yr12 as a mature age student. I know RMIT have the course (in Melbourne). Find your local uni/tafe websites and see what they have available.
