This post may be a little weird, but bear with me.

Basically, since high school for most of the girls I've been with it's basically started at a party or a nightclub.
The pattern has generally been hook up with a girl and then have something come of it if she's actually decent.

So anyway, I got this girls number the other night (it just wasn't that sort of party if you know what I mean:() and there's a little chemistry and all so why not.

Thing is that I'm not entirely sure where to go from here.
Movies as so high school, and 'getting coffee' is a little lame - what are some decent ideas for a 'first date' that are likely to result in things going further?

How about this: don't go for the girls that will let you "hook up" with them just as soon as you meet them THEN if you like them after that you will see what comes of it. You should first get to know the girl and see what comes of it, then fuck her way later on.

Well for starters your looking for love in all the wrong places. Bars and especially clubs are not where you want to meet your next wifey.

Take her to the bottom of the ocean and leave her there.

Don't throw all your cards on the table and be like "here's a date, I want to be your bf". Take her out some where fun, show her a good time, and keep her wondering for a bit if you're actually keen on her. Make her think "does he like me? or are we just friends" *goes to her friends for advice*. Think about it, you're making a thread like this about her so she already has the upper hand.

As for a fun date? If it were me, a local date would be bowling. Can't go wrong with bowling. You can just sit there and talk, or if there are gaps in conversation, you take your shot. Gives you time to think, but that shouldn't be happening.

Any game is good because you can challenge her and make bets. "If I win, x thing happens" easily create sexual tension. You can make the winner get a kiss, the loser have to give an embarrassing lap dance, anything :).

If I went to the city, I guess I'd play laser tag, go to a bar and grab some beers and pizza. Then walk around just chatting. Use alcohol as the conversational lubricant and just take in what ever city you're in. There are always people super drunk or blatantly fucked on drugs to laugh at. People watching is good fun as well.

I guess what I'm saying is a fun person makes a fun date, it's not so much what you do.

Random idea: Fill an esky with ice and beers and go fishing at the pier/lake. It's sunny as shit right now man.

Alternatively, find out her interests and incorporate this into a date.
