I don't want to turn this into a chemistry thread, but if you *really* want to experience salvia for what it is do this: Get yourself a high proof vodka or grain alcohol (151 or everclear). Take dry salvia leaves or an extract and soak them in the mixture for a few days. Strain the foliage out and heat the remaining liquid in the microwave until it boils (shouldn't take too long at all). What you have now is a tincture. Swallow a bit of that and you'll know what salvia is about. Salvia was originally chewed on and the active chemicals were absorbed through the mouth and stomach. When it's bound to alcohol it gets absorbed MUCH quicker (because that's what alcohol does). It also tends to last a lot longer when you ingest it instead of smoke it.

But anyway, I highly recommend using psychs to connect with your lover on a new level. As long as you're both in the same mindset when you go into the experience, chances are you'll enjoy it. When you take a psych with your partner, you're showing them that you trust them on a psychological level - which is often much more important than what can happen on a physical level. When you're able to have this kind of connection with someone, sex is so much better.

This. It's not a party drug. It's a conscience changing voyage that you will never forget. I do prefer the smoking method because I have difficulty getting fresh leaves or any other method (tinctures), but that drug helps you know yourself better and know your mind better.

While more harmful to the lungs, yes, and shorter duration, smoking is the fastest way to get Salvinorin into your system and get the strongest effects as well, albeit the duration is less. This is all a matter of preference backed by no evidence. Smoking or Chewing you will still get a mind blowing experience however they don't make 10/15/20x+ chewing leaves and trust me the experience is and difference between the two is HUGE and smoking takes the cake on that.
