I recently upgraded a ton of components in my computer, essentially a new PC. XP seized to function with all this new stuff, so I upgraded to Vista. And I didn't back up my music.

All this music is still on my iPod touch however, and Apple got rid of the disk drive function on the iTouch. And now I can't sync without losing everything, about half of which I paid for through iTunes, other half albums I still have.

All the software for fixing this situation costs money, and the jackass at the Apple store basically (rudely) told me I'm screwed and I can set up a Genius bar appointment if I'd like.

What can I do? This could be SO easy to fix, but Apple just had to make it difficult.

SharePod needs the Microsoft .NET 2 Framework to work correctly.

Get SharePod. It's so much easier and you can edit the files that already exist on your iPod.

iTunes is the worst piece of **** software, I'd never let it touch my PC.

Nice! Yeah... fuck iTunes, and fuck Apple. But since you already have an iPod, just look for third party open source iTunes replacements.

Let this be a lesson to you. I hear thepiratebay.org is pretty cheap when it comes to music.
