View Full Version : Mathcore.
I heard about this mathcore band called Genghis Tron, so I gave them a listen.
Totally fucking intense
I love the technical ability coupled with the metal aspect of their music. I just think it's fucking awesome. I'm addicted to it.
So, are there any more experimental/mathcore bands that you could reccommend?
I fucking love this shit. :o

Dillinger Escape Plan, although I think they're terrible along with most "mathcore" bands.

I could look this up, but I'm not going to, so what the fuck is mathcore?
I asked for you to suggest good mathcore bands.
If you don't want to suggest any bands, then get the fuck out of my thread.

Converge, Between the Buried and Me, Heavy Heavy Low Low--I actually don't "get" HHLL but I know people who love em so...yea. The end. And Genghis Tron is really more like cybergrind or progressive electrometal

I'm going to start a band that will be just like all the other bands except we'll call ourself "douchecore" so people will think we're cool for defining a new genre.

What are you talking about? Both Converge and HHLL are clearly very stereotypical mathcore, BTBAM is more of a progressive metalcore type deal but they're pretty mathy and I love them so I thought I'd throw them in there. And the OP asked about Genghis Tron in his first post so shut the fuck up.

BOTCH, they were amazing, and started the mathrock movement, damn i miss that band.
Minus the Bear, mathy riffs up the yin yang.
Sumthin more similar to Genghis Tron would be Sky Eats Airplane, Breathe Carolina, HORSE the band, Fear Before, basically any band that mixes metal/punk and electro.
Mathcore is just a term used by retards who don't know what Progessive is.

Genghis Tron are a pretty sweet band.
Although I'm turned off from any kind of music that doesn't use an actual human being behind a drum kit. Especially because Genghis Tron has drum beats that are definitely playable by a good metal drummer.
