Is it just me, or has the quality of pirated media really degraded in the past few years? It just seems to me that more than half of the albums and movies that I download tend to be duds. By duds, I mean songs that are messed up due to scratches on the original disc(this goes for dvd ripped movies too), crappy obscure codecs used on the media, audio out of sync with videos, etc. Doesn't anyone ever check their shit anymore before they upload it to the web? I swear, I have to download an album two or three times from different sources these days to get the complete thing. Whenever I contribute anything to torrents and rapidshit, I make sure that my contributions are top quality. I just don't remember this being as much of a problem years ago.

what you have there about the messed up part is called torrent poisoning....when the record companies are seeding some dummy files hashed to the same hash as the torrent your downloading.....most likely because your downloading shitty teen musics anyway. I downloaded gigs of classics and never have a problem....
And the reason your getting sound out of sync movies....cos you downloaded a r5 version or the cammed one....which happens only to new and latest releases ...
in short ; It's not just you, it happened to *all* assholes. Be glad they're many assholes out there...and your not alone...

I've heard of torrent poisoning, but I honestly usually download stuff that I wouldn't think would normally be under the RIAA/MPAA radar. And it also happens when I use rapidshares.(of course the rapidshares could have been taken from torrents, but usually it doesn't seem to be the case) I'm not sure what you mean by teen musics. My taste in music is quite wide, but not necessarily among the popular. Same goes for the films I watch. And I don't download cammed movies. I assume it's because the myspace generation doesn't know how to encode videos properly.

If you download a movie from a reputable group, there shouldn't ever be any problems. What media player are you using?

I have the problem sometimes, but usually it's that my computer's too crap to handle certain media formats or video files of unusual size.
Also, I've learned not to download movies that havn't been released to dvd yet. Sometimes I get good quality from a new release, but usually it's some crap shot from the back of a movie theater with a crappy cell phone cam.

I look at it as paying for whatever I'm downloading, sometimes it takes a little effort to get a good copy:cool:

Or, you could just buy the music like a civil human being.

sorry this took so long to respond
just filter the hubs for what your looking for... i always look for new metal shiz so i just type metal and hit refresh.... u can do that with pretty much any music or whatever files your looking for... then just connect to like 40 of the hubs with the most users... and to search just click on the magnifying glass... save like 40 hubs as favorites too and have em auto connect every time you get on its way easier...
also there's a tab that says help on top ;)
