As soon as it comes to Beer, everyone gets all self righteous that there beer is so much better than the beer you like, especially American beer. Well i'm from the US, and like any true American, i really don't give a shit why yours is better. I prefer to drink something better than Bud light or Coors, but i do like them because i can drink 20, absorb the alcohol, and piss out the rest.

But it is nice to grab a 12 pack of something different, and a thirty rack of the traditional Coors, or Bud to get extra drunk.

That twelve pack, for me, is usually Magic Hat. The traditional #9 is always good, as well as circus boy. However there are too many beers to name. I'm also souped that i won a bottle opener on their bottle caps offers.

Just a quick thread, never seen anyone on here mention magic hat, so i'm hoping some of you on here enjoy it as much as i do. And if you haven't, definitely give it a try.

I like magic hat. In the past few years, microbrews have really come to the forefront, at least around here (southeast)

Personally, I like Flying Dog. Its way more malty rather than the hoppiness of traditional brews(at least the "in heat wheat" that I buy). Try it out if you like magic hat...i guarantee you'll like it.

This is the kind I get: http://www.flyingdogales.com/beer-in-heat.asp

i like magic hat, and i love how they provide pickle monsters for all good. flying dog is good too, i almost went to their gonzo fest but decided to stay home and eat acid. Boulder Beer from Colorado has some pretty good brews, my favorite is their amber ale.

^ ^ ^ This guy right here. Beer of choice for me, and beer of choice for hippies.

Check their website to see if anywhere nearby provides it. http://magichat.net/

wow, what a weird coincidince.......i've never heard of this beer until last night, which was incidentally my 21st.....

someone randomly showed up to the place i was partying at with a twelve pack of number 9, and i was hooked from the first sip. the stuff is SOOOOOO GOOD! it's like fruity beer.

i've never seen it in stores around here, but i'm keeping my eyes open now. i live in new england and theyre based out of vermont so it must be around somewheres.

anyways, really good stuff, it really revived my faith in beer.

the number 9 is pretty good, but i think it could use more hops. im all about the hops. my favorite magic hat is the roxy rolles
my favorite beer altogether is sierra nevada pale ale though
basically anything pale/hoppy is good by me

You stole my post!

Except I actually love #9. Have a 12-pack in the fridge right now. Lucky Kat is really good, too.

I unfortunately found myself rather unimpressed with most of Flying Dog's offerings. I got their sampler pack and the only brew out of it I particularly enjoyed was the Snake Dog IPA which I've found to be one of the better offerings for that style on the market.

Concerning Magic Hat most of their beers are quite swell IMO. #9 being the obvious of course.

too bad my social life doesn't revolve around the internet, keep lookin forward to boostin your post count everyday bub, reach for the stars.

A nice porter that i've had is brewed by Thirsty dog, called Old Leg Humper, a little hard to find in New England, but certainly worth a try.

If you wanna go for something harsh, try Ten Fidy's not really my thing, but it'll get you fucked up

That has nothing to do with what you said. You said that despite evidence you don't care about what is said, because you prefer your own opinion.

I like long trail a little bit better than magic hat, they use more hops in their brews. If you like Magic hat, you have to try Southern Tier brewery in new york, they make a wide arrangement of beers, and their ales are fairly similar to those of magic hat.

I go to a very well stocked liquor store and yet don't seem to see anything by Southern Tier. Only New York brewery products we seem to get come outta Saranac who make a damned good brown ale.

Saranac makes a damn fine everything.

Also, I just remembered about Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout. FTW.

Since this seems to be the craft beer thread for the moment I thought I'd pop in here and say that I got my hands on some Great Lakes Nosferatu "stock ale" yesterday and found myself superbly pleased. It's an extremely malty, 8% and 75 IBU brew that's quite pleasing to the palate. Highly recommended.

#9 is too sweet, it gets nauseating after 2 or 3 of them.
I like fat angel and circus boy though.

Went to the liquor store yesterday and they were out of #9. I wasn't going to pick any up at the time but it reminded me of this thread.

I find most IPAs disappointing however I'll have to give DfH's a try. My current stylistic favorite probably comes from Flying Dog.

Dogfish Heads 60 min IPA is really hoppy and it has somewhat of a grapefruit citrusy like taste. Tends to kill the palate a bit, but the 90 min IPA is a bit more stronger but that helps kill the biterness of the 60. Delirium Tremens is a Strong Belgian pale ale, its expensive but its so great.

^ I'm probably one of the only individuals you'll meet that isn't a huge fan of Belgian ales so take that for what you will. :)

Regardles I'll give the 60 and 90 Minute IPAs a try. They both rank better than the Flying Dog Snake Dog IPA on BA.

I had a Magic Hat Roxy Rolles the other day it was quite good, hoppy with a carmel malt and a zesty citrus finish
