Ok I know I am a piece of shit for doing it, but last night (xmas eve) me and my girl got into an argument, both were drunk out of our minds, she grabbed my hand when I tried to leave and I back handed her pretty good..I went to go look at her to apologize and see if she was ok but she was cryin so hard and the side of her face was fucking red as hell, I believe there was a big ass bruise but she ran off sayin "you will regret this".

I fucked up so bad man, I never thought I would EVER lay my hands on a woman but the liquor/pride got the best of me, I FUCKED UP, all I can say.

We are both 22 but she lives with her parents and I know when they find out they will go to the cops. What I wanna know is do I have to answer my door? I will face the music but wanna be with my family on Christmas, so I plan to not answer the door. I have tried to call her but just get her voice mail..I wish this never happened and I feel so bad, I just wish I could take it all back and take the pain away. I know I am going to jail but I just wanna avoid it and get a lawyer.

What are my options? I know they won't kick the door in and I can just lay low for a while, eventually they will have me on a warrant but what else can I do?

You could try apologizing so she doesn't press charges or scare/threaten/rape/beat her.

well, you know they do have to file a complaint, then the law will take pictures--they will give their report to the district attorney and he/she will file charges--so, I am sure you had a couple of days.

This is a great plan except when you were calling and txting you didn't apologise for it did you? becuase then they got you.

Seriously you wont get in to much trouble for a first offence I know over in Aust mostly all they would do is slap an AVI on you and make you attend classes. Quick day in court but no $$$ and no jail time

I didn't answer my door for a few days and I guess the cops were watching my door so as I go out today I am rushed by 3 cops, they throw me on the ground and put my face on the concrete and take me in. Fuckin embarrassing as all my neighbors come outside and are on the side streets watching and shit.


The Kicker is that they didn't read me my rights until we got to the station, they didn't say shit when they cuffed me..I was like "what did I do, I didn't do shit" and they didn't respond besides "You are under arrest".

I guess they don't have to read you your rights when they cuff you? So when I get to the station I am searched again, printed, mug shot, and then I am told what the charges are, battery. They question me and I say that we were both drinking and we had an argument, she tried to grab me and I left. Denied, Denied hitting her..I guess they don't have much evidence as they were reaching so bad..Saying shit like, "We know you hit her, just admit it and get this shit over with, we have pictures" ..yet they didn't show pics ROFL.

I posted $200 and walked..Talked to one of her friends and she said she didn't have a bruise the day it happened, so that's good. The night it happened I was smart because I didn't text her saying sorry or anything, just wanted it to cool down. Her dad called me today threatening my life saying he is gonna beat the shit out of me, so maybe I could bring that up in court, which is in a month.

I don't think they have anything on me, weak ass case. I'm fucked because I have to hire an attorney as I have a record on me, so taking a gamble with a public defender is a no-no. I will have my attorney bring up the no evidence/drunk thing. Hopefully it gets thrown out and I can move on with my life and hopefully find a better woman.

You shouldn't have said shit to the cops. Now your story must work with the one you have. So now you have to wait until all the evidence is in and see what her story is before you lie and make her out to be a conniving, immature little bitch who has always lived a sheltered life. Get a restraining order against her father. I'm not you and I don't know the entire situation, but I would make this look like you are pretty much leaving her and she said that shit so her dad would beat you up.

You never confess to anything on a forum. If they somehow manage to get a warrant to confiscate your hard drive they will find this.

Anyhow, don't say anything to the coppers anymore. You played a dangerous move and now they are preparing to make theirs. They will draw their conclusions by hearing your ex and finding some kind of evidence (photo's of injuries) and compare it all to your story. They will tell you they know you lied. Even if its true or not, they won't let you notice. Their outcome is always the same, you are guilty and they can prove it.

I suggest you go to the police immediately with the threat story of pops. Throw in some doubt into the credibility of her side. Better yet, buy an anwsering machine or other recording device and call pops up and demand an apology from him. And tell him that you did nothing wrong. That'll set him off into a threatening mood and provide you with tasty evidence. Tell the cops (or ADA, don't know how far this has gone) that you wish to consult all parties to some kind of agreement. They'll all think you're gonna confess make a plea agreement, etc. Then play the tape and let them hear pops first hand. If pops came with your ex its even better since it hints at them doing everything together including the threatening. It will severly discredit their position.

That or make a real plea agreement and do time. This phonecall is your last roll at the dice for freedom.

btw, if they ask you how she got the injuries then say that maybe pops was angry that day. Since pops expressed his violent nature towards you, you can create a second suspect right then and there.
